Nike made a Mardi Gras alternate for Tulane baseball. If LSU wanted to have one, they would. This just looks like someone in the printing shop got bored.

This looks like a Jersey your buddy created for a travel team.. then mocked one up for LSU. If anyone in the athletic department wanted a Mardi Gras jersey they would have just called Nike, would not have been hard to pull off.

Exactly lol.

Anybody thinking LSU will just randomly wear a non-Nike uniform is smooth-brained

Are those fake buttons? Looks like only the top two do anything.

Non-button down all the way jersey.. little league

Yeah i mean, nike pays us a lot of money to wear Nike Uniforms.

you don’t get one off Marucci.

I doubt LSU considered it, but those are pretty awesome.

Which Nike gets none of. Pretty simple concept to understand when they pay LSU to rep their brand.

Well. I bet Marruci would love the thought of Tigers using, Wilson, or Louisville Slugger or Easton on holidays

I'm going to agree with the others in this thread who said no way LSu ever even gave this a half a second of thought to break the NIKE contract, but:

quote:

Nike decided to raise concern with them wearing a themed alternate on a major Louisiana holiday

pretty sure Nike's issue would be more with it having Marucci on the tag than they are with the "themed alternate" part of the deal.

Zero chance LSU was going to use the non contracted jersey

Then LSU should have asked Nike to produce a Mardi Gras themed jersey. LSU swings a big enough stick and can sell enough jerseys to fans to get Nike to do something like this.

Don’t be mad at Nike for enforcing their contract that pays LSU a lot of money for Nike to be the exclusive jersey provider.

quote:

What sucks is that LSU already has Marucci outfitting with helmets, bats, gloves, etc.
Because Nike’s contract with the school doesn’t include those items

Program could have printed money by retailing these but for one corporate jackass.
Yes, I’m sure that Nike wants to see a competitor profiting from a line of business that Nike pays LSU for exclusive rights to. Blame the athletic dept administrator who even remotely thought this would fly. Athletic department’s legal counsel probably shut it down because it would be a breach of contract with Nike.

I don't see why any major college would be a Nike school. You are helping them fund Oregon's NIL payments

They need to get away from marucci bats anyway. Worst bbcor bats on the market.

College sports is a lost leader for Nike. They give the schools the merchandise and cut them a substantial check to do so. Adidas and Under Armor do the same thing,

Nike long ago reached cult status among teens. If anything, cutting Nike loose would decrease our revenue while also alienating certain kids who want to play for a Nike school.
