The SEC champion is going to the playoff. No questions asked. So if LSU wins out and wins the SEC, they’re in

I don't see how LSU is left out if they win out.

Mississippi State 37 LSU 7
Troy 24 LSU 21

That how they get left out. The only way I see them getting in is if there are only 1 or 2 one loss teams and then a two lose team will get in.

LSU is going to get killed by Bama, that's why they will be left out.

We have wins against Fla, Auburn and Ole Miss

We then beat Bama, Tenn, A&M and Arkansas

Then, beat #1 Georgia in the SEC Championship, we should be in or on the edge. If Auburn can beat Bama and a few strong 1 loss teams gets beat, then we are in. We could be in just by beating 2 #1's and the run on the first sentence

Clemson, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State needs another loss and Wisconsin is sitting undefeated.

Just win out and I will take any New Year's Day major bowl

They need to expand the playoff,

Or, you know, not lose to Troy before bitching about not competing for a national championship. And lets not pretend someone who is left out will always whine no matter how big it is. Or even wait and see if LSU would even get snubbed in a long shot scenario before you start agitating for change.

For fricks sake people, watch the NFL if you like that format.

I prefer a sport where the games actually matter and losses are significant. Not the NFL's "aw shucks"

They beat number 2 Ohio State and number 6 Wisconsin. Committee sent Ohio State because Penn State lost to Pitt

Knocking off 2 #1’s, running the table with 8 straight W in the hardest, most talented, NFL factory conference. Along with blowouts from Georgia until conf championship and we reciprocate the drudging. We’re in. Troy loss or not. That would be the biggest comeback season in D1 history with over 20 FR on the field. In like Flynn

We have one thing to worry about and that's ourselves. Just win

That is generally true, and something someone typically posts to end any discussion about other teams.

It’s not true here, assuming one believes LSU has even a remote chance to get into the playoffs. To get in, LSU would need a lot of help from other teams.

To the point of the original post, I think LSU would want Georgia to be undefeated and number one in the country if we made the SEC championship game. That would give LSU two wins over number over number one teams, a rare feat.

Even that might not be enough, LSU would need some other conference champs to lose games along the way.

I am not by any means suggesting LSU will make the playoffs. I was just pointing out for the dreamers out there, there is a possible path to get in the conversation and one key to that path is Georgia being unseated in the unlikely event LSU makes the SEC championship game.

Miss St has now entered the ranking at #21 after blowing out A&M which somewhat lessens the damage of the Miss St loss although the fact that it was a blowout hurts.

Nothing really helps the effect of the Troy loss. They are 6-2, but they're still Troy.

There are a lot more upsets coming this weekend and one loss teams playing each other. If LSU somehow knocks off Bama things could start to get really interesting in the CFB world. After the gut punch from those two dismal losses we could find ourselves on a wild ride the rest of the season.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would sure turn what had been a miserable season into a memorable one.

It’s almost impossible to think LSU, with its two god awful losses, has any shot at all for the playoffs. The Georgia win does create a path to at least get in the discussion.

I can't see any way for LSU to make the playoffs with the two losses we have. However, if we win out, we'd be SEC champs, in a NY6 bowl and would have defeated BAMA and a great UGA team. I would be ecstatic about that. The odds are incredibly long that we win out. We first need to see how the BAMA game plays out.

Beating two number one teams with a win streak the second half of the season would definitely open up the discussion as being one of the hottest teams in the country. No one would want to play us in a bowl game I assure you. I just don't see us making the playoffs. Being in the discussion would make me proud to be a Tiger though. Especially after swimming out of the cesspool of losing to Miss St. and Troy.

One loss Bama would be in over LSU. The loss would be explained as a fluke where Bama beat themselves.

Have you people not learned by now? LSU must perform twice as well as Bama to earn the benefit of the doubt.
