The Georgia blowout win helps keep LSU very, very longshot hopes alive.

It’s almost impossible to think LSU, with its two god awful losses, has any shot at all for the playoffs. The Georgia win does create a path to at least get in the discussion.
The tigers would first have to beat # 1 Bama and then run the regular season table. The beating Bama part would be an historic upset, but historic upsets happen.
Then Georgia would move up to number 1 or 2 in the country and LSU would have to beat them.
A two loss SEC champion who beat two number one teams at the end of season at least gets in the discussion.
So you’re saying there’s a chance? It’s about as much a chance as me hooking up with Jessica Biel. But for those who want to defy the odds, we want Georgia to win out. #fakehope

We have one thing to worry about and that's ourselves. Just win

In the discussion, yes. But, I really can't see them putting LSU in over either of the 1 loss SEC teams in a 4-team format. It may just get Bama or Georgia snubbed and the SEC left with just 1 in. It's likely that 2-3 other teams in the country will have 0-1 losses. LSU will be left out. They need to expand the playoff, improve scheduling, and have less bowls overall. Money talks, though.

Even if all that were to occur the Troy loss still happened and I don't see the committee overlooking it. Losing to Troy at home equals no shot at a playoff spot.

I would be happy with a NY6 bowl appearance.

Penn State lost today so UGA will move up to #2 most likely. So if LSU beats Bama then UGA would likely take #1 in that scenario. Fortunately neither tOSU or PSU looked that dominant so there wont be more than one Big10 contender.
Also TCU lost so they gone. ND will move up

The State loss is not god awful.

If LSU won out, like I hope they do, then there likely will be only one team that is undefeated by end of the season. You’ll actually have very few one loss teams as well. I think it may be around 5 or so with one loss that are legitimate one loss teams. (Excludes UCF, Memphis, and USF) LSU having beaten two of the 5 with their last lost being in September would get in the playoffs in my opinion. We will have better wins than anybody else.

I don't see how LSU is left out if they win out.
But I mean.. LSU has to somehow win out.

Normally I would agree with you but if LSU wins out beating two #1's in the path there is no way they get left out. LSU has a compelling story to tell in why they improved and the committee could swallow it. The circumstances this year are kinda like LSU in 2007 when we had 2 losses and made the BCS. There is just not any dominant teams out there but Bama and UGA. If LSU beats them they will have played their way in.
I would completely agree with you either of those teams was not ranked as high as they are. Also LSU in that scenrio would have beaten #17 UF, #10 Aub, and a top 20 aTm team since the Troy loss.

A loss by a couple points to a decent State team would not have been god awful. Getting blown out by them was, particularly with State getting blown out twice after that.

It doesn't matter if LSU doesn't take care of business
LSU needs to worry about themselves and win out

Last year Penn State beat OSU on the field and finished higher than them in their division standings but guess who the committee picked to go to the playoffs.

Correct.

Turn your tv to ESPN. State making a run to 6-2. The blowout after the big win against us is understandable. They have not lost to bad teams.
Short answer: you’re wrong.

Well it’s really just a matter of opinion. In my book a 30 point loss to Miss State is an awful loss. In yours it’s not. In my book, a thirty point loss to any team is an awful loss.

I understahd your point but I just don't see the committee overlooking that loss under any circumstances. If the second loss wasn't to Troy or any other mid major then I could see us getting in but the fact is we lost and lost at home. I hope we find who's right in this though.

As much as I agree with, the committee would never get past a home loss to Troy and an arse whipping, beat-down by Miss ST. I can and you can, but that would be due to our fandom

I appreciate the respectful reply.
And I agree. It probably would not be enough. What I wrote is that it would be enough to get in the conversation. An SEC champion who beat two number one teams would at least get in the conversation.
