To Batman's point Louisiana has some underrated talent if you can find and develop them. Sadly recently LSU hasn't been able to tap into recently like Baylor and Houston have.
Wright and Carter weren't highly rated recruits out of high school, but they got coached up and became good. Import some overseas Bigs and supplementary transfers and you could be something every 2 or 3 years.

Dale’s downfall was that he thought he had the program at such an elite status that he eased up on his recruiting thinking players would flock to the program.

Obviously that didn’t happen and he got desperate and sloppy with his recruiting along with being a target on the NCAA’s radar who pounced on him with the Lester Earl fiasco.

True and I also would take Shaq/Pistol over any other 2 college players all time as well. I loved me some Stromillionaire, but Pettit is in the all time starting 5.

We have five retired jerseys, those are our all time top 5.

No way Williams starts over Rudy.

Can’t go wrong with either one. For offense it’s Williams, defense it’s Rudy. Also Stanley Roberts used to school Shaq in practice. Too bad his head wasn’t screwed on right at the time.

Bob Petit is an all time great. He was supreme in his day in college and the NBA. He shouldn’t be co anything.

Agree

That 5th spot is difficult.

So many great players to choose from

P.S.

Not a great one but one of my favorites,

Jose’ Vargas!

They did this many years ago. They put the all-time teams of every school and Did a pretend Lil tournament, and LSU came on top. Over every single school

Three guys right there that probably deserved a double team every time they touch the ball. And we still couldn't win. I believe we lost to Brian Oliver, Dennis Scott, and Kenny Anderson (Ga tech) when Chris Jackson had the flu.
Twin pyramids they called Shaq and Stanley

I loved Blanton, but if you are gonna pick a token white guy from the Dale Brown era, you gotta go with Don Redden. One of the smoothest shots you will ever see.

So you're saying they shouldn't have signed the likes of Pistol, Macklin,or Dewayne Scales

I've posted this a dozen times over the years. The only 2 teams we would have trouble with are UNC and UCLA. What would we do with Jordan and Kareem?

Of course, what would those schools do with Shaq and the space he would create for CJ and Pistol?

Ga Tech did not have 3 future NBA stars and we blew a 20 point lead in that game. Brown choked and couldn’t handle that team. The game had passed him by in the next couple of years. Two things can be true, he had a great run in the 80s and he blew it with his most talented rosters in the early 90s.

Was the flu story legit? Always heard it was just a story they fed to the fans to cover for the fact that CJ and Mo kept getting into fist fights in the locker room and the team was splitting over it.
