Something HAS to be done about the levee lots and river road. That was unacceptable for a FCS game. For bama I might as well pitch a tent and sleep in there till morning.

For reference it took me 2.5 hours to get to lauberge out of the levee lot

We just start tailgating again for a few hours and teardown and head back to the hotel a few hours later. Works better for us. No piss bottles...

You mean shifting all tailgating off campus to the Nicholson corridor is still having detrimental effects for traffic?

I’m sure that’s main contributor.

But we were in the last lot that backs up to river road. They had roughly 1k+ cars trying to exit through one small entrance on Gourrier. They had multiple gates locked and closed that line river road that they could have opened and filtered people out.

Some people eventually mutinied and went and opened the back gates by themselves and eventually the cops came and facilitated. That lot would still be emptying now if they stuck to their original plan.

It didn’t help that they had empty cop cars blocking the exit from the levee lots. They almost had a riot on their hands.

Got home to Metairie at 1am.

Jokes on you for parking there and trying to get to the interstate. Park on the other side of campus, by Greek houses and churches, if you need to get on the interstate after a game. About a 20 minute walk but it’s really not that bad.

I was in that same lot. It was definitely near riot until the cop finally started letting people out.

Thankfully the postgame show is so incredible, you barely even notice you're in traffic.

I was in levee lot but going towards downtown.

Drivers need to know there is contraflow towards downtown starting a skip bertman. I hopped into the oncoming lane and cruised past the line of stopped traffic. Took me an hour due to slow downs as we approached belle of Baton Rouge. They also wouldn’t let us turn towards 110 until after Hollywood casino

It wasn’t just post game. I had a family obligation Saturday afternoon in Gonzales. I park in the grass lot at the Natatorium. I hit traffic at 4:15 on I-10 @ College. I damn near missed kickoff.

I had heard there would be more people on campus than ever before, but why were all of these people just showing up at kickoff? If you were going to campus & not to the game , why weren’t you on campus 3-4 hours before kickoff?

It took an hour to get out of the lot & onto Nicholson. We got passed by the Southern football team & band while on Nicholson.

That was a complete cluster.

It took me 10-15 min. But I'll be damned if I am giving up my parking strategy! Also, I stayed for the entire game. Not much crowd then but the traffic was lined up already.

This is what people don’t seem to understand. Parking in the right spot for your exit means everything. I’ve never sat in terrible traffic post game in the last 20 years.

This. I've had season tickets for 25 years now and traffic should not have been that bad after the game considering only about 20% of the stadium crowd was left in the 4th quarter. That was Bama or Florida game traffic where the game is close and most people stay until end of game. Took me over 2 hours to get home and I only live 7 miles from stadium. The police in charge of directing traffic were obviously doing something wrong. Every year they seem to screw up directing traffic for the first home game or two but than get better. This was exceptionally bad though and inexcusable.

There’s no bigger threat to TS atmosphere than traffic. People have become fed up with that shite. I understand it’s a difficult task getting that many people out of that area but most of LSU’s focus should be on working with law enforcement to get it right.

But the levee lots are almost always a problem. There are some places that are like that.

At a certain point, the inability to beat traffic becomes an individual’s fault. If you know where the problem areas are, park somewhere else.

I park near the Ag Center on South Stadium or in the Ag Center lot in the back facing East Parker and never have a problem. And I park there because I found out a long time ago that the levee lots are a traffic shite show.

I do agree traffic can be handled better. But some of it just is what it is because of where the campus is with the road infrastructure around it and trying to fit 75-100K people into that area. And this is why people leave at halftime.
