I remember in 2016 my now wife and I lived about 3 minutes from Tiger Stadium, had to leave the levee lots and go towards Tigerland. We got routed towards 10 and sat in traffic for an hour and a half, and once we got back to Lee needing to cross over Burbank we sat at the light next to the Winn-Dixie and McDonalds for another hour and a half waiting for them to open that road so we could cross. Never made that mistake again.

One thing we have done to help speed up post-game traffic: we have invested more in game day police staffing," Cody Worsham, LSU Chief Brand Officer, said.

The last time a crowd that large swarmed the area was in April for the Garth Brooks concert. LSU officials say they are prepared for Saturday thanks to that event.

"You don't really know how things are going to go at first. With the Garth Brooks concert and putting 104,000 people inside for that event, we were able to test out a lot of these things," Worsham said.

Years ago there was a passenger train that came from New Orleans way and would pull on a side track The engine would go to the turnaround come back and hookup to go back after the game. They would drop you off right there at south stadium.

Didn’t make this game, but I have always parked in one of the River Road lots so I could go south on River Road, then to Hwy. 30 and down to I10. Mostly it has worked well and I have been back in NO pretty quickly. What was different Saturday that blew this up?

I still can’t get over that epic flaming shite bag I sat in last night. Been going to games forever and I’ve never seen it like that holy shite.

Massive failure.

Been going to games for over 25 years and have never seen the traffic as bad as it was for this game. Even big SEC games…is traffic bad , yea, but this was another level. Also didn’t see any traffic being directed, and cars trying to head back into campus made it even worse

I have been going to LSU football games for nearly 40 years. Season ticket holder for 20 years. Used to park and tailgate by Sturgis Hall off Tower Drive. Was easy to get home after a game.

Then that became a pay to park area and moved to softball field. Horrible to exit after big games when everyone stayed till end.

Now I park at the Lakes and walk. It sure does suck to walk to and from the stadium especially in September. I get home within 20 mins so I’ll take that than sitting in traffic not going anywhere and losing my effing mind.

Anybody try renting a RV? My company rented one for several of us that rode in the MS150. It was nice having a place to relax. Parking a RV at TS is that just show up or do you have to have a permit beforehand?

Garth traffic was an epic cluster frick. There were hardly any cops out directing traffic at all. There were people parked in ADA spots by the stadium that sat in that parking lot for hours trying to get out.

Whoever runs this part of the operation is a fricking moron.

I stopped going to games years ago because the city can’t get their skat together on after game traffic

I honestly think it would flow better if it was just a free for all.
