Guidry was great tonight. I think he was throwing a little straight change to go with the breaking ball. But he struck out Milam, Curiel and Brown on sliders.

I also love watching Zach Yorke hit. He punched a single to the opposite field gap tonight. Was a gorgeous swing.

Great to watch some baseball after the absurdity of the last 12 days.

Questions for the Coach: SPECIFICALLY-where’s the breakdown occurring on the offensive line? Why aren’t these players unable to protect your franchise QB for more than 1.5 seconds and why aren’t these players able to provide push for a running play, especially inside the 5 yard line? We’re 8 weeks in. SPECIFICALLY-why have you not substituted MVB into the game when Nuss was clearly struggling passing and was under extreme pressure almost every snap. Nuss is not a running threat. SPECIFICALLY-what’s going on with your WR rotation? Too much talent at that position to have that little production from Brown, Hilton, Anderson. -Also Coach Kelly, would you consider making a coaching change mid-season in an effort to save a season before it’s too late?

He’s talked about right tackle and said they want to stick with Davis on potential.

He’s said he’s not going to take Nuss out of the game.

He’s said the WR rotation is tightening.

He has not been asked about midseason coaching changes.

A lot of this has been addressed. It goes back to my original point that even if he said:

“Yes, we’re awful on the offensive line. I screwed up not going to Van Buren in short yardage. That’s something we’re going to look at this week. At WR, we have to go with Anderson, Thomas, Brown and Green. They’re playing the best. And I’m firing three offensive assistants.”

Would that make yall think, “ok, he’s got it figured out.”?

I contend it’s just barstool conversation….which is fine.

But no one really cares about press conferences unless things are bad. And at that point you don’t really care about the press conference. You just care that things are bad.
Sure. You just have to convinced mega millionaires to spend $65 million buying out a staff and. $90 million on the new one. And $20 million annually on every roster.

I can’t pretend to know what those conversations sound like.
You think reporters need a “killer instinct” when it comes to a football game?

I think we just have a fundamental disagreement on responsibilities.
I’ve covered LSU for 15 years and don’t recall a single media member losing credentials for asking questions in a press conference.

I’ve been very open on my show that you aren’t going to get “Fire the Coach” from me because I get a check from LSU during football season. I will criticize, and have, when I feel it’s warranted. Not going to call for jobs.

Matt roasted Orgeron for years. Never lost a credential.

I push back on the notion that it’s the media’s job to skewer a coach when his team is losing. The truth of the matter is that no one really cares about press conferences. It’s about wins and losses.

What question and subsequent answer would make yall feel better about the program?

Does Musso have a radio show?

Pretty sure he was looking for me there.

I do appreciate all the constructive criticism in the thread, though!

Fat arse miserable douche Hunt Palmer

I got my fantasy football name from TD last year. This may make the cut this year.
This thread is giving me chills. Yall be safe traveling.

I’ve been a little underwhelmed with the LSU presence so far. That will change tomorrow.

What about Uber back after games, Hunt? Pain or easy

I’m about 45 to 50 minutes later than the fan because of my postgame stuff, but I haven’t had any issues.
I’m at the Ameristar in Council Bluffs. $11 and 8 minutes to Uber to the ballpark.

Been great.

Sorry Hunt but I dont wanna hear anything else from you... tries so hard to be objective and not a homer I can't remember the last time he picked LSU in big game

Picked LSU to win the super in 2 games last week! Will pick LSU to win tomorrow!

And I don't know anyone else in the local media who embraces the homer label more than me.

I do sometimes pick against LSU if I think the other team is going to win.
Correct. Days were wrong. General plot was the same. Thanks for the catch
This has been the talking point all week, so I went ahead and dug up all the information. Here's a story I just published. It doesn't solve anything, but you can draw your own conclusions. The main point is that LSU always wins Fridays and almost always wins the regionals.

Such a weird, weird stance. I don’t get paid for Twitter clicks. Obviously I can discuss more deeply on a two hour radio show than a message board post or a tweet. That’s pretty obvious. And it’s my main platform. I’m just here to discuss like everyone else.

What do I have to gain from a tweet 40 people reply to?

My only problem with what you're saying is I don't see how Oregon State can jump LSU. They don't play another game until their first game in the regional.

I think Oregon State’s resume sucks. I would never put them ahead of LSU. But a No. 6 RPI is not something I’m going to completely dismiss. The committee *could* use that. I just wouldn’t.
It’s pretty simple. I’m leaving the door open. Which is apparently a hotter take than slamming it shut and saying LSU is a top 8.

I think they are. “Lock” insinuates that nothing else that happens matters. I’m not willing to go there while still maintaining that I believe LSU is going to be a top 8.
I’m going to talk about this tomorrow, but I’ll post this here to try to clear things up.

I’m confident LSU is getting a national seed. I firmly believe the body of work is good enough.

I simply left the door cracked for Oregon, Auburn and Oregon State to get in over an LSU team that loses Friday.

In no way did I ever say LSU was out or not a top 8. I just said I didn’t think it was a lock.

Somehow my tweet that suggested LSU was in good shape got turned into “Hunt says LSU isn’t a top 8”. I can’t really control that.

I really hope y’all don’t think I’m farming for twitter clicks. I take some pride in resisting that type of approach to my show and content.

LSU has some RPI, SOS and non-con SOS issues that could be an issue if like 8 things don’t go their way the next 7 days.

In the end, I don’t expect it to be an issue. I think the road to Omaha goes through The Box.
The Baseball America and D1Baseball polls aren’t a factor in the selection process. I’m getting a ton of No. 1 responses. That just doesn’t really matter next Monday.
I am a little taken aback by the massive reaction to a tweet that suggested I felt good about LSU getting a top 8.

But it reinforces how much this fan base cares, and that always makes me happy.

I was booked in late January. Fingers crossed.
