Me either. I doubt if 1% of ranters have a clue, we are just a reactionary fan base. The least we can do is let the guy actually coach a game before trashing him.

Finally, a coach dedicated to teaching our QBs. Make no mistake, at the college level it’s ALL about QB play.

Serious question:
Do you give Denbrock any credit for coaching the offense of a top 4 team? Or having a top 10 offense?

Yeah because Cincinnati has the same caliber of players LSU has.
Geez man
Way better qb and OL.
I have no clue what fricks like you are thinking when yall say this shite. How bout this angle, when his scheme is up against better defenses, like the SEC has, it doesn't fool as many defenders and has severe issues.

Good. About time LSU has an offense where the HC, OC and staff all believe in and run the same offense. They might actually start to have some continuity around there.

You mean when people compare Cincinnati's OL vs Alabama's DL? Yeah, it's really confusing.
I'm not trying to be rude but there's no comparison between the two

There's no 'angle.' I have no axe to grind in this argument.
You just proved my point. He did more with less talent, got Ridder into the Heisman conversation. Whether or not you think he should've been in that discussion is debatable.

Not disagreeing that they aren't talented but you can't honestly say that they matched up well with Alabama.
That's my point.
Calm down.

Listen, it’s an underwhelming hire at best. Just pointing out that his offense crapped the bed in a game that matters. Cinci has a better QB, WR, TE, RB than LSU, and still couldn’t manage one TD.
They rode their defense to the playoff, and by all means the D looked coached very well. The offense was lackluster at best, and seeing posters make excuses all night for it is embarrassing. It was an abysmal performance that nobody on LSUs board would have tried to pump sunshine on if it hadn’t been leaked Denbrock was the guy. People can deny that all they want, but it’s true. Nobody “sees the positive” in that performance without trying to spin for LSU.
Denbrock was a fallback guy (obviously), same thing that happened with DC. It’s uninspiring, LSU should be able to go lure the best guys possible. HOWEVER with that being said, does Denbrock make or break the team. No. Not likely he has a huge impact outside of Kelly’s decisions. Sean Payton does a similar thing just having a friend in an OC position that is more or less just placeholder position and it’s fine. But nobody in 15 years has ever said “man Pete Carmichael has the Saints offense humming”. It’s a hire just to make a hire. Will it be fine, probably. But you moronic pumpers that also pumped up Orgeron being hired are insufferable. This is a C+ to B- hire

Might as well keep Puuts for OC, This Denbrock could not even get a TD, not one TD today, I will reserve comment on Sloan.
Our last OC from Cincinnati was Jimbo Fisher so who really knows how he will do here.

LSU, will need superior talent in order to be successful with this conservative ball control approach.. Hopefully the defense will bring it, because we will not be winning any shootouts..

The last 3 recruiting classes for Bama was 1, 2, 1 and Cincy’s was 45, 41, and not in top 50. Not exactly apples to apples here.
Yep, that's where the differential is. Cincy should have never been in the playoffs.

The WRs, TE, and RB all more talented than ours
So what WR on Cincinnati is better than Boutte?
What TE on Cincinnati is better than Bech?

Bech is going to be a bigger monster in his offensive style… going to be exciting

Anything offensive from Tech is good historically speaking. Had a shite year this year but the head coach just got booted. Sloan was I think suspected as a potential in house replacement for HC, too. I'm very down for it.

Cincinnati was fourth ranked because of record… and the media dying to have a G5 team in the playoff.
Talent level not close.
Anyway. Similar to our fan base lambasting our OCs when our Oline could not block or pass protect against even average teams.
Whatever

IMHO...I think we can agree it's not a splash hire. From the information online about Denbrock, he seems good at coaching O-lines and TE's. However, there's not much suggesting he's a guru as an Offensive Coordinator.
Joe Sloan appears to be pretty good at recruiting but can also "assist" with the offensive play calling. If he doesn't have a similar offensive philosophy as Denbrock, I don't see it working out much.
Both have done pretty well against the talent in their relative conferences. However, neither is considered a home-run hire. I think honestly most LSU fans wanted a big name HC that put together a who's who type of staff. It somewhat takes the enthusiasm down a notch as we've seen other SEC schools power up on ESD and after waiting on BK to complete his staff, we're having to google the names of those hired to get an idea of their accomplishments. They're not the "splash" names as many had hoped. In all, it stings because LSU fans are realizing not only will recruits (homegrown kids or not) prefer other destinations but also it doesn't appear that big name coaches are lining up to work here either.
