And I'm not ready to let Daronte go. I think LSU has something special brewing on that side of the ball in Daronte.

I can't visualise Brian Kelly being a good fit for LSU football, but what do I know?

It seems like a coach of last resort because more attractive options decided to go elsewhere or renew their schools' contracts.

It’s pretty decent hire. He’s not a sexy hire and he’s older than what most would want but he puts that meathead Ogre to shame.

Not my first choice but he’s a good coach.

Not a die hard LSU fan, but this would be a great hire. He is second in wins amongst active coaches and he can recruit his arse off. Imagine him with La talent. Lsu will certainly win a natty in the next two to three years. Happy for you guys.

LSU is expecting to hire Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly as the school’s next head coach.

Can I have Brian's brother and South Bend can keep this guy? A young Napier was literally 60 miles down the road and we pay a $12M retirement parachute to Brian? Really? Woodward made a safe, 10 win a season hire instead of swinging for the fences.

Wait, are you saying going after Napier would be like swinging for the fences? Kelly is a great hire.

The more I think about this hire, the more I love it.

Mission accomplished, Scott Woodward. You did well.

Saban got the Bama job when Rich Rodriguez turned it down.
Btw, Rodriguez got another HC position today.

when did anyone ever think that LSU would hire away Notre Dame’s coach. He was never on my radar. Certainly not a flashy hire. A very solid hire with way better credentials than our two previous coaches…..and they won NC’s.

While I don’t hate the hire, and only time will tell what he can do with the talent, the argument that he made the playoffs multiple times always seemed to me to be because of the media’s love affair with ND. He did well there but c’mon, it’s just like their love affairs with OU, OSU, etc.
With that said,

I wouldn’t be mad if he kept Daronte. He finally got things cleaned up.
