I may be off but I still think there is something to playing on Turf when your not use to it. Most of the teams LSU plays yearly in the SEC, Auburn, Bama, Florida, Miss. State, Texas A&M have natural grass. LSU of course has natural grass. I think Arkansas is going to it. So only Ole Miss Has field turf, so in the past, we would play in Arkansas or Ole Miss in a given year where our guys played on turf.

This year LSU played 2 games in 3 weeks on Field Turf, Texas and Vandy. Last year Fulton got hurt at Arkansas on turf. I know Todd Harris got hurt at home at LSU but seems more injuries on Field turf than natural grass. I know the Colleges have better turf than in the past but it is not NFL quality and it doesn't give as much as natural grass.

Doesn't help playing on artificial turf. That stuff doesn't give way like natural grass does, so naturally leg injuries are more prevalent.

They were definitely 'on them' in piles. Lawrence got pushed backwards with his ankle/leg pinned on the goal line. Not to mention they were torqued down to the ground all game. It's no surprise that there were quite a few lower body injuries.

Not necessarily dirty. Not necessarily to injure them. Their goal was to make them quit AND wear them down. They did what was expected, push your guy around till the whistle blows even if the guy is blocked. They didn't let up. And it did affect them.

The cure is to push them around instead of getting pushed around. Being the bully is always preferable to getting bullied.

Getting held and flopped on all game can do that to a fella.

I hope that its just that. I am beginning to think its strength and conditioning. Lawrence has been here four years and has never played a full season.

Typically, teams use defensive ends or smaller defensive tackles to generate a pass rush. What would a pass rush look like with Shelvin and Ika in the middle collapsing the pocket? Both seem agile for their size and they might pose a problem for a center and two guards.

I doubt we need these guys to beat Utah State. I say hold them out and get them as healthy as we can for the SEC gauntlet.

I thought we were prohibited from now bringing up the holding and other crap the UT oline was allowed to get away

frick all that - Chaisson was held every time he rushed the QB except that one time he stunted and went in unblocked.

I'm not sure Chaisson was legally blocked on any play of that game.

And it is a preview of Bama who perfected that shite.

I think the opposite, instead of treating the guys like china dolls let them play if they are medically cleared and get some more game time experience and maybe some toughness.

THIS. Will they be ready to play demanding series vs UF, let alone 4 qtrs., and not run out of gas?

This is where them sitting out and getting other guys quality game reps comes in handy..

I agree with you. I had posted a nice photo of UT holding our DT, but got flamed for it "cuz the game was over...".

The bama game is a loss unless called fairly.

That's your perspective. When I see DL being high/lowed numerous times, including the low guy chopping/cutting the knees and lower legs from the side or backside when the DL is engaged high in the front that is playing to injure someone. UT did it most of the game, especially the 2nd half.

Lawrence and Logan both went out on the same type of incident which looked shady to me. Both guys were attacked by a double team that pushed them down to their knees and then both OL piled on top of them and bent them over backwards. This caught their lower legs underneath themselves. I was hoping they didnt tear their knees up.

I never saw anyone else comment on these plays so I dropped it. What looked shady to me was neither of these plays required the extra effort pile drives as the action was long past the players involved. They reminded me om something you would see the masked guys on All Star Wrestling do...

I’m thinking the crummy turf in Austin & Nashville both had an injury impact.
