How many LSU fans would you estimate were in the stadium?

I’m glad your experience with UT fans was good, they certainly did not come off as classy on tv— throwing drinks at LSU players, the video of the kid (and others) cussing like a lunatic, and of course shooting a cannon ball through Burrow’s Jersey... and the nonsense with the tickets and the band...
oh well. Glad we won, glad it was a better experience than it appeared to be.

Any city that gave us Office Space can’t be all bad!

But they should only get 2,000 tickets next year!

It gets much hotter in Austin in May-Sept than in Baton Rouge. Humidity COOLS the air and the humidity is a bit less in Austin than in BR.

It was 87 degrees in BR at 6:30pm Saturday. It was 96 in Austin.

Anyone care to share what the whole OU still sucks stuff is all about. I mean I get Texas fans hate OU and they are your rival but when your not even playing OU why do you have to start that cheer. Seems odd to me.

We sat in section 102. The fans around us were rude and cussing the lsu team and fans. frick you lsu etc.these were not kids but women and men from 30's and up.
The environment was very hostile the entire game.
Remember the Alamo next year when they go Baton Rouge.
Booing our injured kids and putting the band in the upper deck.
Shame on you Joe Aleva!!

It is a dry heat I've spent many days there in the summer If you have worked outside any day in the summer in Baton Rouge, then you would agree. If you sit in the air conditioner all day in BR, then travel to Austin and sit outside for the game, then yeah you could make that state
The fact you are arguing 100+ degree temperature is not hot is absolutely absurd. I’ve been to plenty of “dry heat” areas in Texas and Arizona and it’s like an oven if the temperature is in the 100s. That doesn’t mean it isn’t hot as hell in south Louisiana in the low 90s with higher humidity.

Pretty spot on review. I was there as well and agree on just about everything, especially the piped in music. I thought LSU was getting bad with this, but they have taken it to a whole new level.

Horrible music, way too loud. Texas band barely played all game.

I was in 102 as well, Row 39. I was truly disappointed and baffled by the way they boo'ed our guys who went down. They didn't even wait for a trend to develop, started as soon as the first guy couldn't get off under his own power. Apparently this is a B12 thing and they are spring loaded?? Tried to explain to my UT hosts that we don't really do that in the SEC, but they didn't get it.

Great experience all around. Only downside, the only unruly fan I really saw all day was the mid-20s douchebag LSU law student right behind me who doesn't know how to drink and was a complete, utter, embarrassing to our entire fan-base a-hole all night long. If a couple of Horns nearby had decided to light his arse up I probably would have snuck a few in just for good measure.

Oh, and the "Shut the F*** Up, I'm a Longhorn, Bitch" and the "Make them eat S***" T-shirts prominently on sale departing the stadium are embarrassing for what is considered to be a "classy" fan-base

I was in 107 and the Texas fans around me were fine, no issues whatsoever

My brother was in 101 and said it was rough from the beginning

Your experience was very different from ours at least as far as the fans. We sat in 102 and The arrogance and entitlement and disdain was palpable. Lots of snarky comments from the fans around us that on my younger days days might have started something. No “good game” or “good luck” comments to be heard. Don’t care to ever go back to a game there. Other than Alabama fans, I found the Texas fans to be among the worst I have encountered.

Me and my group were in Section 19 in the student section and they were classless and talking shite the whole time. But I wouldn’t expect anything different from students.

They chanted “Give them hell, Make them eat shite” at the end of their cheer which was pretty creative honestly, but not very classy. They booed every injury, even while Divinity and Delpit were walking to the locker room for their injuries.

They were loud when they scored and when we had 3rd down, but absolutely silent the rest of the game.

I never left where we were standing because it was SRO but others in my group said there were no TVs in the concession area.

We got beer thrown on us when we scored the last TD. Honestly I was more upset about the alcohol abuse than the shower.

I was in Row 12 and thought the atmosphere was very good. There were a lot of LSU fans in our area but when I was in line at the concession stand, in the bathroom, waiting to get in the game, etc., everyone was very nice. We were at a tailgate with some UT fans and somehow I ended up with a Maker’s Mark given to me without even asking for anything. After the game, we were waiting outside to meet up with some other people and hundreds of Texas fans passed us by and said nothing that was tasteless.

The entire night I didn’t have a single negative experience. Neither did my girlfriend when she was on her own. Afterwards we walked about half a mile to 6th Street and saw a ton of Tiger fans around.

I also thought the heat was much more manageable than what I’m used to in Houston and Baton Rouge. It may have been 100 officially, but I’ve felt much warmer days in both cities.

I thought it was a little annoying how they piped in about 10 different songs but at least Bulls On Parade made some sense

Eta: Maybe I had high expectations because there are so many wealthy UT alumni, but the stadium itself was less impressive than I expected.

When our bodies are accustomed to high humidity and water around our bodies, we tend to not sweat as much and retain more water. So, for someone to go to Austin with less humidity than New Orleans, you tend to sweat more and not retain as much water in your body because the water tries to balance out the difference with the environment around you makes it feel much hotter to someone. It is called equilibrium, you should do research before such a clueless comment.

I don't like the way they banish all of the visiting fans and bands to the upper deck of the stadium. It cheapens the atmosphere somehow. They've moved their own band around the stadium no fewer than 3 times since I went to school there, and apparently they plan to move them again once renovations are done. Last but not least, it saddens me that they're going to block that awesome view of the nighttime Austin skyline.

Well, where else are they suppose to put the damn shite show they call the student section now? Since 2016, the way they handle student tickets this year is atrocious. Makes me never want to go to a game again. You should go read the Chris Del Conte's twitter.

This was our experience in 109 as well. The couple of guys sitting to my right were nice and respectful and we shook hands after the game but the majority of them were terrible. Arrogant and pretentious, while at the same time managing to have an inferiority complex about not being in the SEC. Talked shite the entire game, booed our injuries, etc. Had one uppity bitch behind me screaming directly into my right ear the entire time and then saying dumb shite about our education being "49th out of 50th". Was pleased to let her know we were #1 on their scoreboard. Another one told us not to cramp up on our way out after the game and my buddy dropped to a knee and faked one in front of her while I apologized for dragging their loss out longer than it needed to take. I will say, outside of 109, the fans I talked to were pretty friendly. Had some nice conversations in line waiting for beer and walking around the stadium before the game.

Another issue I had was the ridiculous ingress and egress from DKR, walking up what felt like a mile or more of ramp and then getting to a completely crushed packed concourse 15 mins before kickoff in that heat was miserable and not something I ever want to do again. It was the same thing on the way out with the bottleneck at the bottom of the ramps getting out of the stadium and then having the street leading out be blocked by all kinds of stuff making it difficult to get through. Not to mention their beer lines that took me literally from the time we kicked the field goal with a couple of mins left in the 2nd quarter to the start of the 3rd to get through, and their bathroom having zero ventilation.

I also don't really appreciate them ruining the Pursuit of Happiness remix from Project X for me for the foreseeable future.

I assume DKR could be a decent experience if you're going for a lesser anticipated game and have seats in the lower bowl. However, it didn't seem like they were prepared, or had the necessary infrastructure for the number of fans they had in the upper deck last night. JMO.
