So training camp bad, mini camp no problem. Got it.
I'm not arguing it makes sense. I'm saying thats where the line has been drawn and every other school seems to be fine with that line.

Explain with a coherent argument what makes being cut from training camp with a non guaranteed contract any different than going to multiple minicamps and being compensated by an NFL team.
Guaranteed or not, players sign contracts to go to training camp but do not sign contracts to participate in minicamps.

LSU has one practicing with the team. Hard to say we haven't signed anyone when they are in the building and practicing.

I’m fine with it too…next year.

Why do you think they arbitrarily drew the line there?

I seriously can't get it through my thick skull why guys that didn't make a 53-man roster are considered pros.

Explain coherently how one is professional and one is not.
The definition from Websters btw
quote:
: participating for gain or livelihood in an activity or field of endeavor often engaged in by amateurs a professional golfer/poker player Few think of Idaho as fertile ground for developing professional baseball players. —Michael Lycklama b : having a particular profession as a permanent career a professional soldier c : engaged in by persons receiving financial return
Traditionally it was having hired an agent. That’s gone.
Also being paid by a professional team in your sport-well minicamp players get paid.
So one gets to make 6 figures as a professional amateur at UT but the others have to stay unemployed because they signed to get 50k or less?
There is no way to reconcile that other than to lick Stanley’s boots.
Well I’m an American. I stand up to tyranny

How the frick is training camp and mini camp where you draw your line?

Because he wants to kiss the ring and lick the boot of Sankey.

This is , was, and always will be about Kiffen and LSU. There is absolutely NO conceivable reason to not allow a 2022 class player who did not make an NFL roster to not play this year in college, None. Zero. Nada. There isn't even a competitive advantage. It is , as we used to say, retarted,

Name one school that has signed an NFL Training Camp cut.
Nobody has signed a training camp cut.
Texas has signed, enrolled, and fostered a guy who went to multiple minicamps... as if that is any different than training camp.... the argument is so disingenuous, that it's embarrassing to even listen to
According to the NCAA as of last Friday, you have 60 lawsuits with 322 athletes that have TROs... and idiots like you think this is an LSU issue, when they're not even named in any single lawsuit

LSU is actively sticking up for the players which I believe will prove beneficial the long run as well

TBob’s ability to so eloquently put together these rants makes me question if Bobby Hebert is actually his father

That's where the line was drawn because other schools were fine with it being there. The Big 10 came up with an absurd definition that sounded tough but allowed its teams to roster all of the players that they wanted to roster and everyone just nodded along.
It's actually a pretty incredible marketing coup by the Big 10 that some LSU fans on an LSU website are taking the position that attending an NFL minicamp as an undrafted rookie free agent, something that has never been close to allowed, is somehow now an acceptable amateur activity.

He’s just been reading the rant. We’ve all been saying this for 2 weeks.

I would assume that to participate in minicamps they have to sign some form of paperwork due to liability purposes... The NFL likely foots the bill for medical care if Joe Blow has his leg ripped off during a drill. Sounds like an agreement to exchange services... I will practice/play/tryout for your team, you will pay my medical bills if im injured.... sounds kind of like a form of a contract.
