Also, by definition, you have to be a rookie in the NFL to participate (or up to five (5) veteran players) in the "Post-Draft Rookie Minicamp." These aren't just open tryouts, they are only available for players from the most recent "College Draft." This is all spelled out in the CBA.

There is no more amateur in college football. . .
It is a professional sports enterprise. Players are being paid to play. It lost it's amateur status long before this situation came up.
Call College Football What it really is. . . a farm system for the NFL. MLB has pros who sign contracts and play in the minors. That seems to be pretty much where things are headed in football.
If people want to get steamed about it, blame who's at fault - the NCAA. Those brainless underachievers have been laughingly trying to play catch up to this for years, and still can't.
