LSU found some marbles late last night and they were able to do what they should have done Sunday... but baseball is baseball... Pitchers lose it, batters go cold, and underdogs can win games they are not supposed to.

7 of the 16 regional hosts lost their regional and are now prepping for summer ball, the transfer portal, the draft, or life as an insurance salesman.

The 1 and 2 seeds in the tournament, Vandy and Texas respectively, have both been eliminated... Many pundits picked either of these two to win the entire thing. Texas led most of the season as the #1 team in the nation.

But baseball is about when you have it.

So while many of you enjoy shitting on the team and Jay Johnson anytime you get, recognize that the majority of fans would have taken these results had you asked them February 1st.

I can't remember a regional weekend with so much carnage. 7 of the 16 seeds eliminated at their house is insane.

I do think it's amusing that Schloss stepped on his dick in the post season again though.

Its all about winning. Jay knows 1000x more than the morons on this board who bitch about the team everytime the score tightens up.

These arent baseball fans. Theyre drama queens.

The people you’re talking to have no perspective outside of expecting LSU to win every game by a lot. They certainly don’t follow college baseball on a national level to see other teams and their struggles or imperfections. It’s obvious by their posts.

But I agree with your message and the spirit of your message completely

I bet Arkansas to win the whole thing the week before we played them while they had a little value. One of only 3 hosts to sweep this weekend.

Wish they and Tennessee were on the opposite side of the bracket rather than having to face either first in Omaha. I feel better getting them in a 3-game series format, especially since we already beat both in H2H series

100%. It also shows that maybe the SEC isn’t as dominant as we probably thought, and the overall is a little bit more even this year than it was in years past. Which isn’t a bad thing imo.

Up until this point I’d agree. I think in order to fulfill the expectations we definitely need to win this weekend, which I think we will. After that, expectations are met imo. Omaha is a crap shoot and just hope we are playing good baseball at that point.

Number 1 and 2 overall in the first weekend is mind blowing. Vandy and Ole Miss played in the SEC tournament championship and are sitting home today. Shows the importance of the SEC tournament.

People will downvote but I changed the way I look at this team as the season went on, so I am pretty happy with almost any result from here on out.

This is what is so laughable. These people actually think Jay and his boatload of coach's, analysts and unpaid intern ball players haven't thought of every scenario, game approach, how the hitting and pitching is going, etc.

Right. Jay has to plan days, weeks in advance. We dont have the luxury of knowing the things he does.

If this were easy, we would al be doing it for a living.

Not only this, a lot of the teams eliminated were beaten by “second rate” teams. UTSA, Wright State, Murray State, Utah Valley, Cal Poly etc.

Baseball is weird in that it’s not the same as football where you can decide to switch from man to zone because a certain DB is getting exposed. If a pitcher doesn’t have it they just don’t have it. Jay could have easily tried to stop the bleeding Sunday by being in Cowan or Evans, but he recognized that if you burn them and don’t win then Monday would be miserable.

Instead he took his lumps and we got another shot with those guys available. Cowan didn’t have it but dangit Evans was a monster.

Bats woke up enough to get the win and now we have our two aces who will be ready for the weekend and Evans who has to be confident.
