Bianco is 1/16 on the year but Johnson is putting him in the lineup because he's scared of a lefty on lefty match up?

What in The Holy F*&^ Does Johnson see in Thompson that NOBODY in the Rest of The Free World Sees? He is the WORST Fielder in the SEC and this is not even debatable! Look it up :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I love how we sit here and act like we’re the authority of saying whether a guy who’s a hof college coach has better or worse lineups than a guy who’s been to the cws twice recently.

Like we know more than them both
Lol

Yea I agree but still. This is about as far in the “data driven” direction as you can go. I’d rather this method than Paul’s 100% feels method but there’s a happy medium out there somewhere and Jay usually hits it perfectly just a little shocking to see that lineup

Small sample size

I member when everyone thought McManus was a bum. Until, of course, started to get more regular at bats

Sample size

Or when people thought Digiacomo was going to hit .350 because he got hot for a weekend

Sample size

Fielding aside, I did hear that Thompson is batting something ridiculous like over .400 when leading off an inning. Idk how often he's gonna get to do that in the 4 hole, but its at least a good stat for him

Like Les said, small sample size. But also, maybe they want his leadership in the lineup after a bummer of a game yesterday. Need him to get the team juiced on a dreary Sunday after a day in which appeared to be heading to a really nice comeback win, but suddenly turned into 8th and 9th inning arse whooping.

This team was already young with not many vocal leaders, and then Dugas, Milazzo, and Bianco all got hurt. I think they were likely the top 3 leaders prior, but it’s harder to “rah rah” from the bench, so we’ve been missing something.

Or maybe Pearson and Stevenson broke their hands in a late night, drunken, Bogies brawl. Who knows.

I’m probably in the minority..but I’d really like to see what Berry could do hitting left handed against lefties. It’s the same desire I had when Lance Berkman was playing.

McManus probably needs a break behind the plate, but Travinski is terrible with the mitt. Thompson in the 4-hole, ehhh. Just bat Berry 9x.

The day after he crushed a 420 ft 3-run bomb to dead center yesterday hitting right -handed? Ok.

The “normal” lineup is god awful against lefties. Jay trying something else. Hopefully they can chase him quick.

I guess we are going to pretend Thompson is a good hitter today. He’s a righty. but not a guy I’m crazy about seeing with RISP.
