maybe, but when you have to change your personnel and entire gameplan the day of the game to something you haven't been preparing for in the weeks leading up to the game, I can't say I'm overly confident they would have been any more ready to play a zone defense, especially considering one guy just got here 2 weeks ago and another was hurt, not 100%, and han't been practicing. Everything about what we did, whether it be coaching, attrition, game planning, players available, opt outs, emergency room visits, etc...all just a recipe for disaster playing an air raid offense. It was the perfect storm of everything being bad at the same time.

Which is why I still can’t understand why we only have one corner in the 2021 recruiting class.

And so far there's not much help on the way in this recruiting class.

Well, the stupid arse "offensive" braintrust could have protected MB a little more and committed to the run. It's like the coaches do not communicate at all and know the situation.

What could we expect though, MB has been here 4 years and they still don't seem to have him ready or even know what he can do.

"this defense is already better than at any point last season" coach O.

So that was a blatant lie!

Agreed, but we should have been able to outscore them, with a little more committment to the running game and little more decisiveness on some throws from Myles. The INT intended for McMath comes to mind. That should have been an easy TD.

What area on what call? Especially when it’s not a position your have trained for. And even if you have that down, what are the tendencies for WR in which formations you need to look out for in this new spot

Kind of scary if your 2 milli? Coordinator can’t make some sort of adjustment.. regardless of personnel. They should never throw for 650+ or whatever it was.

The defense got four turnovers, including a pick six. They wore down in the 2nd half due to no depth. Loss is on the offense, we were going to have to outscore people this season

So losing one player in the DBs led to all of this? That makes absolutely no sense. If we lost multiple of our planned players fine; but we lost one in Stingley.

Exactly these idiots don’t know football. Playing man is easy, zone is more complex for players to understand. One DB been on campus 2 weeks in Evans, other fresh off surgery haven’t practiced in a couple weeks. Yea let’s play zone Moo State still eats our lunch. This is the staff whiffing on DB recruits & attrition players leaving early.

Has nothing to do with whiffing on DB recruits. No coronavirus making it a lot easier for kids to just quit to declare for the draft and Stingley not getting hurt, you'd have Vincent in his nickel spot he's played for multiple years with Sting on one side and Flott or Ricks (a 5 star), on the other side. I will say this though, Mcglothern will probably be the next best corner not named Ricks.

What about that kid from the UA game? 5* corner if I’m not mistaken.

You talking about Ricks? He was at the All American Bowl if I'm not mistaken....he had a pick and only had 5 balls thrown his way....he defended 3 out of 5....by far the best on the field that day at that spot.

I would be very surprised to see that we don’t turn things around. A lot of talent, but a lot of inexperience in the DBs. Stingley being out sucked, and definitely put a lot of pressure on the young guys. The loss sucked, but we’ll be okay.

Perhaps, but we already have half our guys playing out of position and injured so changing the base scheme was probably met with apprehension

I get his explanation...and definitely think we would have won had Stingley played
But this is the year of this little thing called COVID-19....the coaches should have been prepared to lose anybody at anytime. Especially this season
