I see no benefit in keeping Kelly. Next year will be worse. Once the team bails on him when the portal opens up, it will be a total rebuild with at the very least a new offensive staff. Keeping Kelly will get ugly next year.

Things got worse after Denbrock and Daniel’s left. This years defense with a Denbrock offense would have been in contention with a game managing quarterback. Sloan, Davis and Nuss are the biggest problems and their ineffectiveness has worn out a decent defense. I’m not sure firing him makes good sense. Kelly needs a GM that can help him make better personnel decisions. If next year is the same we fire him and bring Coach Saban back.

The difference is Woodward hired Kelly. This would be admitting he made a terrible hire and he should be fired as well

LSU has already completely overhauled the personnel department.
At this point, I am not sure what Kelly even really has authority over. Probably not personnel/roster, and he doesn’t directly oversee either side of the ball. There’s been suggestion he didn’t even really have autonomy on the Baker hire.

Woody needs to be gone first, then Sloan, then Davis, then our WR coach, then our ST coach, and then we should just fire BK for cause, and I don't care what it is. He is a fraud, and start there. Let him meet LSU in court and ruin his legacy in college football. If he decides to quietly settle for half with his legacy intact, go for it. Otherwise, make him want to leave BR as soon as possible. He has ruined our most valuable asset.

They absolutely could fire Kelly right now. Where the interim president situation comes into play is they may not want the AD who was responsible for O and Kelly's buyouts to hire the next guy. Woody is the one that's tricky to replace.
But Florida is in the same situation and they still got rid of Billy. It can be done, and honestly should. This is year 4 of a year by year regression
Year 1: 9-3 (division title)
Year 2: 9-3 (no division title)
Year 3: 8-4
Year 4: 5-3 with 7-5 or 6-6 feeling like an inevitability
With next year's schedule and roster rebuild impending you can't keep going down this path with Kelly. This year was supposed to be the best team he's had here and he's going to post the worst results he's had in a playoffs or bust year. He had his chances in 2023 and 2025 and blew both of them, he's lost all support from everyone. We need a new coach next year so they'll be in year 2 with a manageable 2027 schedule.

I am so sick of reporters/commentators who know ZERO about Louisiana and the LSU fan base talking about a coach being the right “fit” for LSU -like we LSU fans are all the same backwoods, ignorant, dumbass people they like to stereotype us as.
If Brian Kelly was winning and competing as a playoff team he would be a great “fit”. That is all it takes.
I mean Nick Saban was an a-hole who went to college up north and was coaching at a Big 10 school within driving distance of Notre Dame when LSU hired him. He won and this weird idea of a “fit” was never mentioned.
Ed Orgeron - surely he was the right “fit” - LSU didn’t waste time canning him - after winning a national title.
This is why I do my best to ignore the media. They know nothing.
