Two-way? Both parties talking AND listening?

This year still has a lot of play left. Can work about that after we finish 2023 games.

I have a feeling that Jones and Frey will play a good bit of outfield in the summer, then whichever is the best outfielder will play there and the other will play first.

Jones moves better, actually got some wheels.
yea you got it opposite. frey is much better mover than jones. frey has already pretty much moved to right field.
Well damn.
I've really only seen Frey behind the plate in HS twice and some baserunning so I didn't think of him as an OF option. If he moves better than Jones, that's awesome because I think Jones moves really well for his size.

Middle infield will be very unsettled.
I really wish Connor Simon hadn't gotten hurt. A MIF next year of Simon and Guidry would be pretty stacked.

Keeping up with Frey in the recruiting process I watched a few highlights from his football season. He was actually considered a dual threat QB and recruited as one a little bit from what I remember. If I remember right, one thing I read a few years ago that impressed me was that he ran a 4.7 40. At 6'-5" 230 lbs that is impressive.
I feel footwork as a QB only helped his agility and he does have some speed.

Frey moves better than Jones.
Jones moves really well for his size, but Frey is really athletic and moves even better.
It would be fun to see Jones in RF though. He never gets to show it, but Jones has a fricking canon for an arm.

Just looking at recent history, at least one spot is likely to be manned by a freshman or transfer.

Several interviews Jay has mentioned that Frey was going to be a superstar. You can tell he’s high on him. Just not much room in this lineup.

And if Larson gets to campus he's going to push for playing time.
He has a nice looking swing plus he puts another leftie in the lineup.. I hope he does make it to campus.

He has said Frey will be a corner outfielder. He's a very athletic big man. Jones, not so much. He's not a slug, but definitely not adequate athleticism to be stuck in the outfield.

Guess time will tell. Many think Jones is plenty fast enough to play outfield

Mik'd Up Jared Jones Interview
Jones was on the Mikie Mahtook show not long ago. This is the first thing they ask him about. Sounds like the plan is for him to get reps at catcher in summer ball and compete with Neal for that spot next year.
Jared Jones Recruiting Profile
Just for some background, he was the #4 ranked catcher in the country coming out of high school.

Many? Who are these people? I've not heard a single person say that. I think it would be a really bad idea. I mean, if this were an actual legitimate thought, that he's plenty fast enough, why would we have moved Tre off first base to get Jared in the lineup at 1st? That's all the evidence anyone should need.

I dont think Jones will play OF. But Frey also looked really bad tracking balls when Ive seen him. Will take a lot of work

It’s in this thread.
It’s been said by Jay Johnson that he sees Jones as a future corner outfielder. Ben McDonald has spoken about it on the TV broadcast

Jay Johnson has not said that. Ben McDonald mistakenly said said that about Jones, instead of Frey. Frey is the one Jay has repeatedly said will be a corner outfielder.
