This is based on Jay saying he thought Jones would be a corner outfielder next year. Kling in Cf and Jobert in RF? Hopefully Pearson will stick around and provide depth here. Thoughts?

Unless we have some big name guy coming in at 1B, why wouldnt Jones be slotted to play there?

You sure you not getting Jones and Frey confused? I feel Frey will be a corner OF in the future. Jones, I'm not so sure about.

There is no way to answer that question.

There was a thread last week quoting Jay saying he will be a corner outfielder. He is just playing first base to get his bat in the lineup right now.

I think we see Frey in RF next season.

Why not let him get reps in LF this season to keep his bat in the lineup then and let the All American first basemen who played it the last two years stay at that position?

Concur IRT Frey, he has the look of someone who will punish the ball. He had quite a few quality ABs & rbi's before conf play. Kling will roam CF leaving Jobert (if he is back) & Pearson for LF. Entire lineup will be 'younger' next season, but they won't lack potential.

Interesting. I missed that one. That is confusing to me. Big man doesn't seem like he will cover much ground out there. Scout at the game this past weekend said he will be a corner IF/DH at the next level.

Will have plenty options in the OF to not have Jones out there. Seems like 1B is a good spot for him throughout his career.

That doesnt make a whole lot of sense.
Tre Morgan moved to LF to make room for Jones.

Exactly. If Jones was a corner outfielder, he’d be playing LF this year, and Tre’ would have stayed at 1B.

Jay seemed high on Mic Paul in the preseason too. He’s also mentioned in multiple interviews that he thinks Frey will be an all American one day.

shite. So many good players but only 3 spots. Some will hit the portal to seek playing time elsewhere. Have not even mentioned Stevenson.

IMO both Frey and Jones see the field next year and that means Jones to LF and Frey at 1B. Jones moves better, actually got some wheels.

Also don’t sleep on Kade Anderson in the OF discussion.

Stevenson can certainly add his name to the mix if he starts hitting better. Also Larson and Mitchell are two freshman next year that are highly rated, assuming they make it through the draft. If there is a premium bat in the portal, they could be added to the mix as well. I have a really hard time seeing Jones in the outfield next year.

Have a few incoming freshman that may also challenge for some PT.

Derrick Mitchell
Dallas Dale
Griffin Cooley
Ashton Larson

They all have the ability to come in and maybe get some PT. Derrick Mitchell and Ashton Larson probably with the most potential.

I actually have the complete opposite opinion. Frey moves better from what I have seen. He is a bit more athletic and has more speed.
