Just hard for me to believe he will leave Oxford while his son is playing football.

I hear you, but there are plenty of great football schools in Baton Rouge

I've been to Ole Miss several times. Totally unimpressed. $$$$ is why they go to Ole Miss.

OMG Sports Illustrated really going out on a limb there. I actually would like a Dillingham hire I think more. 35 up and coming, very good recruiter, innovative, has proven he can get it ASU to the playoff and Texas got lucky. Has had a tough year due to injuries especially to their QB. I don't believe all of the Saban rumors but that's just me. Maybe that is real. But I think Dillingham would be a great at bat for LSU.

None of these publications or talking heads know a fricking thing. They are throwing shite against the wall to get clicks.

We'll know Lane isn't leaving ole miss when he signs an extension.

Of course they're telling recruits he's staying, but the reality is if he was so locked in, he'd have signed the extension that was offered two weeks ago. At the very least, he's not making any decisions until December.

Kiffen wont talk to anybody. That doesn’t mean Sexton wont have a contract ready to sign at the appropriate time. Sexton is busy now negotiating with PSU, UF and LSU.
Lane isn’t signing the contract now as Sexton will make OM mortgage the university to keep Lane there.

The 37 million isn’t part of the negotiations for any school pursuing him nor for Ole Miss.

You are correct. The $37 million is what Ole Miss would owe him if Ole Miss broke the contract...sorry on that one.

In what way is ole miss better than LSU?

History - LSU by a million
Stadium- LSU
Facilities for football - LSU
Recruiting- LSU, ole miss shares a small state with an instate Sec rival and has LSU on one side and bama on the other
Money- LSU can drop a much larger bag than ole Miss and has a history of doing such

Expectations- ole miss since you are a hero there if you win 10

We took their worst coach ever and won a nc with him.

LSU is a better spot than ole miss by every measure that matters.

So much that no big power 4 school ever offers him. Why has he been at Iowa St for so long?

I agree with every single one of your points sans one about LSU being better than Ole Miss in history, stadium, other facilities, and recruiting. The money difference has been narrowing significantly among schools. Isn't the Indiana coach now the highest paid college football coach?

Ironically, you mentioned one of the LSU vs Ole negatives yourself...expectations. I will use another word that is the result of NOT meeting expectations...pressure and fan base disdain. Now, all of sudden, Brian Kelly was NEVER EVER a good coach...anywhere! Also, you nor I have any idea what Lane Kiffin's personal life situation is...does he love Oxford the city...does he love his home...his daughter attends OM I believe, etc. Money talks for sure but as I said, there is no proof that LSU would outbid OM and he has said publicly that "money is not the deciding factor where I coach". He said that. Do you and I believe him?

Either Campbell is the worst business guy in the world or he REALLY wants to stay in Ames, Iowa. He WAS hot a few years ago (2020) when he finished 9th nationally. THAT was the year to move and a lot of buzz about a lot of the schools were contacting him. Since then, he has had only 1 good year (2024) when he finished 15th. This year...not so much. May not even make a bowl game this year. In 10 years in Ames, he had IMO only 2 good years. The rest were either mediocre or bad. There was initially a 3-9 one but even after that scattered 7-6 (3 of those), a 4-8 season, and this year 5-4 so far. Thanks but no thanks on Matt Campbell. I WILL say recruiting to Ames, Iowa can't be easy.

You have no idea if this is true or not. I’ve known Matt for a long time. He loves Iowa State and knows and understands the expectations there.
