Nothing about his pitching screams elite closer.

Low 90s fastball. Slow bender of hook with a lot of depth but not very sharp.

Has decent command of two decent pitches. But not elite command of a single elite pitch.

This kid just keeps missing bats and I’m not mad about it but I don’t really get it either.

He pitches angry. Confidence matters in that role.

He does but I have to be missing something in the stuff department because most pitches floating in at 89 mph cock high are getting sent to the moon I don’t give a shite how cocky the pitcher is.

Not sure, but this dude oozes swagger and confidence. He out-confidences batters.

His curve has a splitter like break to it. It does not rise and fall...it just dives under bats and it's not slow.

I wonder the same thing. 65% curveball that is good, not great, and he gets people out left and right.

Production/results are all that matters though

My guess is his spin on both fastball and breaking ball.

For real, his slider is elite enough that an okay curveball has value. There are MLB orgs that would take him as is and try to make a starter out of him

Oh I agree and I love watching him pitch. In no way shape or form am I trying to downplay him. I just don’t get it
