The right way is Brian Kelly.

People still read Dandy Don? Didn’t the original old man running it die like a decade ago?

I still believe the NCAA’s ill-timed implementation of the 5-for-5 rule is the root of this mess we’re dealing with today.
No shite Captain Obvious (not directed at OP).

I dont understand this at all. Either youre good enough for the pros or time to get a job. To abstain is pathetic, Ill support the team, but we are on the wrong side of this one.
If you’re too stupid to understand the posturing that’s going on, then that’s on you

I kinda like being the bad guy....fk em. Can you imagine the melt the OM fanbase will have if LSU is successful this year and OM is not. It will be glorious. They have convinced themselves that lane wasn't responsible for last season, and it was really pete....lol. I think OM goes 8-4 this year...leaving them out of everything....and then it falls apart the following year. Jmo

Lsu is on the wrong side of playing within the rules? Got it. Clemson is against the portal and largely took thatbstance...look at them now. You adapt, or you lose.

I could see Lane suggeting to these players months ago
"I think you have a shot and getting that NCAA ruling overturned, but you will have to fight for it with a lawyer"
That's just advice, not "encouraging a lawsuit"

Sounds like a pretty level-headed post to me. Understandable why that wouldn't sit well in a place like the rant

Not sure why people really even care how LSU is viewed by other fans and the public. Our job is not to become the country’s beloved darling team. Our job is to win. And usually that means being unliked. Let’s accept that and move on.

Yes. It will be similar to the melt from LSU fans as we were firing BK while ND is thriving. Most fan bases are very similar.

Intelligent adults can hold multiple views in their brains.
This particular issue is a bad look for Kiffin and LSU and the players involved are nowhere near worth the distraction, as exemplified by the fact that none of them can make an NFL roster after four years of college football.
But Kiffin is the right coach for LSU in this Lord of the Flies world of college football and I am glad he's at LSU.

This isn't even close to being intelligent

When the team stops labeling itself with the name of my alma mater, then I will stop caring about its reputation.

We were melting as LSU fans over Notre Dame?
I must have missed this.
I remember the Kelly vs Freeman comparisons and how Freeman benefitted from the new playoff format, but I don’t really recall any melting.

Fan of Kiffin or not, I agree with Don. It is embarrassing and leaves a black mark on our University.
I would be pissed if I heard Texas or Alabama was recruiting professional players.

I’m with Kiffin. ‘Every situation is unique’. In our FB situation, it was all timing. Because their eligibility hadn’t been determined, they had no option but to try at the next level. They didn’t make the cut and then their extra year of eligibility was granted.
Signing could take away the ability to look at each situation and make the decision that is right for the player, team and league.
