What? LSU, a team picked to finish 5th in the West, won 10 games and won the West with Daniels at QB. And in the most pivotal game against Bama, he earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He has things to work on, but LSU overachieved this year with him at QB.
If he doesn't play at the expected level, Nuss will be waiting to get in the game and take over.

Maybe he will progress by his 7th or 8th season.

BS. The guy was very accurate.
Also BS.
Look, it doesn't matter how good/bad JD throws the ball. Forget about it, stop posting stats, just stop.
He won 10 games. Won the SEC-W. If he's healthy, he plays until something changes.
It's a risk/reward calculation.
CBK couldn't bench JD5 even if he wanted to -- which he probably doesn't want to.

You're imbecilic take aside, why is it so strange everyone would believe Kelly when he said that JD is the starter for next year?
The offseason is going to be structured with JD as the starter in practice. If the coaches see something in Nuss or fail to see something in Daniels that makes them think they should switch that, then they will. But for now, according to CBK, Daniels is the presumptive starter for 2023.

Well when you never throw it at the barn, it’s pretty hard to hit it.

You are a clown.... Why would we not be excited about a 5th yr senior, who contributed 67% of our total offense, is coming back?

In Bryce Young's 1'st full season starting (2nd year playing) he threw 47 TD's with 7 Int's.
In Caleb Williams' 1st full season starting (2nd year playing) he threw 42 TD's with 5 Int's.
In C.J. Stroud's 1st full season starting (2nd year playing) he threw 44 TD's with 6 Int's.
JD5 has 49 TD's and 12 Int's in FOUR FULL YEARS when it comes to passing. Yes, his running is pretty elite but he definitely leaves a lot to be desired in the passing game. He's the starter but unless he makes unbelievable strides in the offseason, more teams will sit on short routes and use a spy. Just as life was increasingly harder for him on the backend of this season, life will be just as hard all season next year.
He needs to stop holding the ball too long, learn to throw it away at times (in spite of it hurting his completion %), and stop taking so many unnecessary sacks.

Have to keep Nuss from transferring. Have to, have to, have to.
I like the qb spot for years to come with Daniel's and nuss.

I'd bet significant money that, barring an injury, JD will be the starter.

All these guys are Heisman caliber players who will get drafted top 5 OVERALL in the nfl draft. Odds are that Jayden Daniels, Garrett Nussmeier, or anyone else on LSU’s roster will probably never be as good as them.
They also had multiple years in 3 of the best offensive systems/situations in the country. Whereas Jayden played for 3 years for a coaching staff that got fired for being mediocre in the Pac12.
17-3 is a good touchdown to INT ratio, if he lets it rip downfield a bit more this year and gets to like 25-5 he will be in good shape to lead us to an excellent season.

JD5 is going to contend for the heisman in 2023. Watch.

I hope for LSU's that he does, but I wouldn't wager on it.

What is so strange is the fact that you and others like you who have a grudge against a QB who led LSU to a 10 win season and an SEC West Title in a season where LSU was not expected to come close to those results.
Apparently you and your fellow haters don’t understand that Daniels IS the starter until someone beats him out which they haven’t done and may not do. Certainly having a QB leave and not even try to compete after insisting on a redshirt year in 2022 in not going to prevent Daniels from starting.
So YES DANIELS IS THE STARTER and should be. Why do you expect anything different at this point?

Most thought we would win less than 6 games! We were pick to finish 5th or less in the west

Who are you? Stevie Wonder could see that JD was our best bet at winning and having the season we had.
And he has grown so much from the opening game to now...true Tiger fans are really excited about him returning.
Please get that much needed eye exam!
