This is why being a top tier (by reputation) recruiter is meaningless if you can't get a staff to develop those players.
O's classes have been atrocious when it comes to that, and it isn't a surprise. He goes after high star ranking recruits and ignores things like fit and need. That is why 2019 was nothing more than a flash in the pan for him and we are now seeing that mediocrity to slightly above that is his long term ceiling.
You will always have misses on the recruiting trail, but to have the number we have is absolutely amazing.

Looks like a bust and this is part of our problem. Coaching is the other part of our problem.

Exactly. Stingley could've never played another game after the Clemson game and I would deem him a success for recruiting. Anything that he adds going forward is lagniappe.

Great Freshman season? it was
Not so great Sophomore season? It was about half of previous year due mostly to an injury.
Injured for lord knows how long? This is a fact. He has played this year for 3 games and now is injured for an unspecified amount of time.
Most of the people posting considered Stingley one of the only successes. The post was about the whole class with the consensus being he has been the only real success for us out of all of them.

His play bared dropped off (if any) last year. He was rarely targeted compared to 2019 when he was playing opposite an All-American and had the Thorpe winner playing deep. I guess Ricks is "off" too because no one will throw at him.

Man I was so excited about Kardell as a recruit. The first 3 all have had issues staying healthy which has hurt their development and impact as well.
