re: So if the kid goes to juco one year he gets a 3-4 million dollar raise? When redrafted.

Maybe, but maybe not. I think the team that drafted him was offering way below slot value; maybe one of the draft gurus here can tell me if that is right or not. I don't think it's that they offered below his ask; it's that they offered so much below his ask. But I could be wrong about all that.
He was offered slot. I believe it was somewhere around 1.7 million. The problem, for him specifically, is there was a HS left handed pitcher picked before him and after him that got over slot, like 2.5 to 2.7 million.
This X post explains it better

The only difference is they have to wait 3 years to give it their shot.
Mostly, unless you’re Derek Curiel. Drafted as a sophomore in 2 years.

He could be entertaining other offers. Likely that he is. Doesn't sound like it is a high priority to pitch at a D-1 school. If it was he would have recommitted by now, I think. I'm sure our best effort to get him to LSU is being made.

But he loses a year of development
Do you think he's going to head to some no name Juco program? Brother, he's a pitcher. I don't know if y'all just don't pay attention to Baseball, but LSU hasn't exactly developed any pitchers lately.

Kade Anderson, Anthony Eyanson. Gage Jump and Paul Skenes (Yes he added velocity and control in his time in BR) all say hello.....

I’m forced to assume he was being sarcastic.

I’m expecting JUCO. I’ll hope for the best, but it seems like he really wants to go pro sooner rather than later.

Only if he convinces a scout that he is the next Paul Skenes and not just against JUCO competition.
