Those two kids were having the time of their lives. Excited, often complimentary of LSU. Reminded me of two high school kids having a good time.

Sitting here in a hotel room about 1,500 miles from Hammond, La., I turned the game on about midway, and it took me awhile to figure out if this was an SLU telecast or a Lynn Rollins impersonator. That's how hard they were trying to be objective, even though their team was on the brink of a memorable upset. I hope their professors commend them on that.

If you guys don't like announcers, turn down your TV sound and listen to the radio sound from the LSU broadcast.

Agreed, they were students as well. It's a small school, I'm not expecting an ESPN-level broadcast or even a UL Lafayette-level one. So what we got was better than not having a broadcast to view.

Thank you guys for broadcasting the game. I am thrilled to be able to watch not only LSU but a good game as well from 600 miles away. SLU is to be commended for their effort.

These SLU students were way better than the Jack wagons from South Carolina. It did take them a while to figure out "arse palm" had been replaced by another pitcher. They were very impressed and complimentary of LSU and especially Kade Anderson.

It wasn't perfect but at least they got it broadcast this year. I was happy to be able to watch from 481 miles away from, "Hammond, America."

Everytime, I watch one of these I'm reminded that Lynn Rollins is an absolute treasure and we are lucky to have him.

As a former speech teacher I'd have to say they did a pretty decent job on the broadcast. My biggest critique would be the color man's constant use of um after every sentence. After a while that seems to be the only thing I heard. He's learning and he'll clean it up.

Jeff Palermo is god awful. Bill Mr LSU Baseball Franques couldn't even save the broadcast

They weren’t that bad. They were complimentary of both schools and very enthusiastic. They made some mistakes, mispronunciations, etc. but it did not detract at all from my enjoyment of the game.

I've read that they were students of SLU (not that I couldn't tell that myself) so I give them a partial pass due to that. There was a bit of "homerism" but once again understandable. I saw 12 minutes of footage of the game. I found the "color kid/analyst" not that bad. But my God, the main announcer shouldn't YELL almost all the time. It wasn't bias, he just needs to lower his voice occasionally. And every second of the video I saw it wasn't that exciting. Bottom line: I hope broadcasting isn't his major because he won't be taking Joe Buck's job.

Disclaimer- I didn't watch it, since I don't have ESPN+ and didn't bother to find the stream anywhere.

So, this was a student broadcast, and what's more, those Southeastern students KNOW that probably 10K LSU baseball fans (who will watch every game) were watching them.

Here's a suggestion, for you guys that have watched LSU for years and instantly know every guy on the roster: mute the sound and try to run play-by-play yourself, in a timely manner. Try it with your kid or maybe your dog just for fun . Don't even worry about the color commentary part, just see if you can keep up with PBP in a coherent manner, doing it out loud.
I tried a few times over the years with different sports, all of which I knew everyone on the roster, and in games where I thought I could even tell what the coach was doing (football, basketball, baseball etc). It's a LOT harder than you think. In football, you're trying to call the formation and they've snapped it already, etc. You end up blurting words out, or you're 10 seconds behind, or you just miss plays completely.

It was twice as good as least years television broadcast.

As others have said, we are lucky to live in a time when we can watch a mid-week game with an in-state school that was being aired in the same time slot as men’s basketball. There was a time a SEC BB game would have bumped baseball on the radio.

They play two times this season; home and away. Same with UL. Only fair.

My only problem was that they couldn’t zoom in on replays. Would have liked to see that stolen base and tag up close.

The SLU guys went out of their way, in my opinion, to not sound like homers. Not terrible.

Jeff Palermo, on the other hand, was horrible.

It’s KSLU, or whatever, God only knows what anyone of us would have said at 20. I would have been voted out of Tangipaho Parrish . Cut the kids some slack.
