Knew it had to happen eventually but what a crummy day. RIP coach. What a remarkable life. Hearing from all the people that's lives he touched and just the character of the man.

A truly great LSU legend. His daughter does some work with a good friend of mine here. She let us know, and it was very sad. But he had a rich, full life and had a positive impact on many young men..,

Glad I got to meet Skip in person a year or two ago at his book signing in Biloxi. He seemed in pretty good health at the time.

As an Aggie, I have already expressed my condolences to the most legendary coach ever. During the gorilla ball era, he smoked us Aggies. Piss off Ben McDonald. ;-). You are really good in the booth, Ben.

I was not there but, yes, I think Skip’s joke that a tornado went through Starkville and did a million dollars of improvements had Saban bent over laughing.
If have not seen it, definitely catch the SEC Storied “Hold the Rope”. Very inspirational, even if not a LSU fan

I have taken this pretty hard today. Went to all of this man baseball camps back in the day. For an athletic department that routinely produces stars you can make a damn strong argument that Skip was the biggest and most recognizable of them all. RIP to the GOAT. Glad he’s back with Mrs Sandy. Thanks for the best childhood and college life ever.

I attended LSU's summer graduation at the PMAC this morning. After the National Anthem, they announced to the crowd that Skip had passed away. I didn't know until then, and it seemed as if most of us there didn't know. There was a huge gasp and then an extreme silence. It took the breath out of the arena for many seconds.

I was fortunate enough to have "met" him twice. First time was his final year as Coach and was just a quick handshake, "Hey Coach".
The second was about three years ago at a small luncheon with about 15 people. The guy next to me was one of his former players. When he saw him, he started talking about his recruitment and conversations that they had when he was a player. The former player looked at me and said everything he just said is 100% true. I was impressed that almost 30 years later he still remembered conversations with a single player considering all the players he had come in contact with over his career.
I got to talk to Skip for about 5 minutes and got a picture.
Skip was a great Coach and even a better person.

Not much to say. It sucks. Skip is what they say, the goat. LSU fans need to appreciate his demeanor. As a southeastern guy I know his teachings helped build the southland and juco baseball. I pray to Jesus skip gets a warm welcome and his family has peace.
