Should he throw it to Nabers for the 5 yard gain, or should he tuck and run, forcing a sack for -1 yard in an otherwise clean pocket?

There is only one question, "Where is Taylor".

It is REALLY bad. I suggest everyone watch the second play of the Auburn game at the following link (skycam). Play starts at 17:05
LINK

The play is perfectly designed to get KB the ball in the flats with a RB in front to block for him.

Back motions out of backfield; easy read that KB has a LB in coverage (my dumbass can see it pre-snap); JD doesn't even look his way & throws into double coverage intended for Taylor.

This isn't difficult - he should have never looked at anyone else after the motion put KB on a LB. This isn't not going through your progressions -- he shouldn't have had progressions once you realize your AA WR is matched up on a LB.

I think you throw the guy in the middle open towards the umpire...catch that and cut up field for a big gain.

There are three open receivers within 10 yards. I thought the problem was that we were running long-developing pass plays?

Three open guys there.

True freshman mistake by the 4 year starter.

you know what happened 2 plays later? Daniels runs for 10 yds on 3rd & 7 for a 1st down.

Can we do the film review for the 3rd down play next? Man coverage & no wr’s open so he made the right decision to use his legs.

This but I’ll spoil the movie and tell u he tuck and ran in under 2.3 seconds for no gain with fair to good protection, good call good blocking, NO confidence, progression, or patience, SCARED to make a mistake that’s on Daniels, NOT Boutee attitude, NOT OL, NOT CMD playcalling ,

Malik looks like an easy throw that would have netted the most yardage.

Either that or if that linebacker sees Malik then Malik is no longer with us

He HAD three options at various times. In that picture Jenkins is not open anymore. He was probably open a second earlier. In other words, if the ball was arriving in that picture he was open, otherwise, too late. Nabors is still open, but the ball should have been released already, and 27 is the most open, assuming there is no defender just outside the frame.

He needs to learn to throw his receivers open. 3 are open underneath for a short gain. Lacey can be thrown open off his left side for a first down over the middle.

The ball has to go to Nabers, and JD should have seen that as soon as the ball is snapped. The scheme sets up your most productive WR against a linebacker. Get it to him quick enough and it's 2nd and short.

For whatever reason, he's locked on Taylor, who has done nothing to warrant that type of trust.

Looks like play design is to hit 8 on the Dig. And there is a perfect lane to throw to 8 too. No lineman in 5’s way. Doesn’t get easier than that pass. Makes this even more of a head scratcher.

As for route tree, I’d prefer to see 7 running a go route on that top hash or a corner over 10’s out. You hit 8 and then field is wide open for big play YAC. I don’t like to see so many WRs at same depth.

Im sure this is being coached up this week. Up to 5 to make the improvement.

Using still shots is hardly an accurate way to determine where a quarterback should throw the ball.

You do know that NFL quarterbacks only review still shots on those fancy Surface tablets right? Maybe that's why Tom Brady likes to throw them.

The ball should have been in the air before this snapshot

I count 9 defenders, so unless you know where the other 2 are and where they are moving to, I don't see how one could say the ball could go to anyone other than Nabors.
