The players don't want to play for him anymore. He's not a players coach or a guy they want to win for. The sooner a change happens, the sooner the program will become relevant again. He was never a good fit in Baton Rouge.

agreed. they probably should have let him go after last season. LSU is too good of an athletic school to have such a pathetic men's basketball program.

no you haven't

the year after we lost Marcus, we were a bunch of no talent assclowns

then Trent brought in 3 top 100 players, and we were HOPEFUL. then after about 15 games, we again realized, we were a bunch of no talent assclowns.

then Trent brought in JOB and Hickey and we held our breath. Now, we realize we have some decent talent to build upon and next year we can be really legit.

agreed...I have been following LSU for decades and do not remember a time when our basketball program was less relevant...

Really? Posters that say stuff like this must have had their head in the sand for the majority of the last fifteen years.

Much too early to answer this question. This year's team really does have a lot of potential. The talent is almost there and will be there next season. If Trent can't teach the talent how to win then yes it is time for him to go. But you can't tell that after a lousy three games.

I don't call for the firing of coaches but I'm very disappointed in the program's progress under Trent.

He finally has recruited a few kids who can play....FINALLY, but the kids don't seem to be developing and they don't seem IMHO to be put in their best position to succeed.

I'm still trying to figure out what he's teaching defensively. I've never seen a team so clueless and fundamentally unsound so consistently on that end as Trent's teams in his four years here.

And I've heard him repeatedly say that he doesn't put limits on his kids in terms of creating on offense because he asks so much of them in so many other areas.

I just don't think you can do that. There has to be SOME accountability for bad choices on offense or kids will continue to stretch the line further (see Spencer and Stringer).

I like you Native like the man and think he stands for the right things, but I'd like to see some signs of good coaching as well and I'm just not seeing enough.

This team will win some more games than the last two years because they have some talent this year, but they're still gonna lose more than they should to lesser teams because they IMHO aren't being taught to play defense the right way and are too undisciplined on offense.

Buzz or lack thereof doesn't concern me. Bad basketball does.

Oh, and I'd love to eat crow later on this year. I really would. I'm just having trouble seeing how that can happen.

I am a firm believer in giving everyone a fair chance. that being said, I have seen enough. Make the change now! I don't care! Let the women volleyball coach coach the team until LSU can do a proper search. Leave out Aleva and hire a firm that knows basketball.

I'll continue to give Alleva the benefit of the doubt that at the time of the hire it was a good one. And people that want to fire the coach in November after the third game of the year need to come to terms with reality. Every knee jerk reaction from our fanbase should confirm why they're just fans and should never be in a position to run anything in real life. Just stick to shift duty at the plant ricky.

If we don't go .500 in the SEC, make it to the NIT and make some substantial noise.

That's the truth of the matter, sorry.

Of the top 7 players in terms of minutes so far this year.
Strom Warren is the only veteran.
Turner and Stringer are both sophomores who have 1 year under their belt.
The other 4 are all new to the team. This team is still very young and inexperienced.

Dying for a marquee matchup before sec play. Dude do you call northwestern or coastal Carolina marquee? I don't. However during Brady's tenure we played number 1 zona and beat them had a home and home with Ohio st. Just to name a few. Trent has had three years and hasn't doesn't shite. Calipari turned uk around in one year starting almost all freshmen so don't say it can't be done. Trent needs to go. I say we hire Avery Johnson. He went to school locally at southern and has nba coaching experience. Throw the bank at him and he comes

Everybody needs to just calm down. The team is young this year, will be young next year, the year after that, and the year after that. Trent's been here for 4 years, but he just needs 4 more years to get his system in place. It's all John Brady's fault.
