I have seen Calipari coaching (on TV).

he stops the play and explains what was done wrong and what should be done instead. I saw him say, NO, you do this. not what you did. that is why I SAT JOE DOWN. do this.

Calipari has command of the english language and knows how to effectively teach the style of play he wants them to play.
he breaks down the mechanics of the process.

I have seen CHAMPIONSHIP coaches coach in person, since I was a teenager. I watched the NAIA champion coach coach his team.
THEY RAN PLAYS. The big men worked on mechanics of rebounding.
They had to shoot free throws and all free throws were counted by a person with a clip board.

Some guys "got it". some are duds.

Calipari does a LOT more than recruit.

Is this a joke? Are you inferring that we should have been able to recruit another Shaq because Dale Brown was able to do it over 20 years ago? Has there been another Shaq since Shaq?

There hasn't been another Shaq on the planet since then. Nor has there been another Chris Jackson, IMO. Both are once-in-a-lifetime players.

Statements like this are ridiculous. This would be like Miss. State football fans saying LSU's football team doesn't seem to have a problem winning with freshmen, what's Miss. State's excuse?

Kentucky is a LONG-time national basketball powerhouse and a "go-to" destination for top recruits. They are going to get multiple guys who are rated as the top 20 or so basketball players in the country every year. LSU's basekball history does not come close to Kentucky's.

If folks want TJ gone, then there are plenty of vaild arguments for such. But to say he should be fired because he's not keeping up in recruiting with the Kentucky's, UNC's, Duke's of the world is assinine
