Glad to see these guys in at the same time next season. Shelvin is an absolute monster and Ika has shown flashes as well, good luck blocking those dudes on the inside. Our current d talent will fit well in Bo Pelini’s system. #35 Clark will dominate at middle linebacker guaranteed.

IMO they aren't going to be on the field at the same time very often.

I dont think youll see two 330+ players in at the same time.

You might only see a three deep for the NT with a five deep at DT. The NTs will see limited action.
The worry with them is that theyll get winded during a slew of no-huddle plays.

SDE
Neil Farrell 6-4 290 sr
Justin Thomas 6-5 265 sr
TK McClendon 6-5 270 sr
Soni Fanua 6-4 275 sr

----Ali Gaye 6-6 280 jr

DT
Tyler Shelvin 6-3 340 jr
Siaki Ika 6-3 335 so
----Jacobian Guillory 6-2 330 Fr

Nelson Jenkins 6-4 300 so
----Jaquelin Roy 6-3 295 fr

Pelini all but said in an interview with Jacob Hester that they would both start next season. But I’m sure you know more than him.

lighten up francine.

unless its 3rd and 3, they're not going to be in at the same time.

Farrell or Logan will will play too. You want a 5 man front?

We are going to have a dominant defense for the foreseeable future. Good fricking luck trying to run the ball against our beef. It's just not going to happen. Pelini is a breath of fresh air with his aggressive approach in the front 7. There were times last year and the seasons prior that I got very pissed at aranda playing so damn conservative and not bringing the heat like he should have and when he should have. That won't be an issue with bo. Our defense will be dominant. I cannot wait until the rest of the conference and nationally, LSU and pelini are recognized once again as the top defense in the nation. It's going to happen, and very quickly. Defense and talent is never an issue for LSU. Now that our offense is matching them and is a compliment to our always damn strong defense, instead of being a liability and a detriment, we are going to be competing for titles year in and year out...mark my words, bookmark my post, do whatever you see fit, but it's happening and we comin' baby! Geaux Fightin' Tigers!!!

I hope they are both staying in relatively good shape. Worried about their eating habits when away from the team.

Because your 3-Technique is usually a guy that is a one gap penetrator. Shelvin and ika are more suited to play the nose in an even front... Gotta remember the whole reason LSU is going to an even front is to generate more pass rush with four guys. So yes, that guy is right those two won’t start together in any base package but could be on the field together on situational downs.

Shelvin and Ika won't be playing at the same time because they will be rotating with each other to stay fresh longer.

As pumped as I am about Shelvin and Ika, I am over the freaking moon excited to see Guillory wreck shop as a true freshman. Dude will go down as one of the best d-lineman to ever don the P&G by the time it’s all said and done.

I expect Clark to be our breakout player. Remember he started in front of queen at the beginning of the year

One of the best defenses in NFL history used 2 huge tackles.(2000 Ravens)

It's not unthinkable that we could go a similar route.

Can't afford that much slowness at one time. They are cloggers.

They're not necessarily slow though. And they can still cut some weight.

One of the things we dont need to worry about FOR ONCE in a long time is that our DL depth is insane. That was an issue for the last 5 years. We have that shite down now.

Edit: Lets work on the DE spot now that we are in a 4-3 defense with Bo. Its a shame we didnt get Burch, but we have still have some studs though...

Are you kidding? Weakness in the DL was a problem for several years. It was the first year LSU had depth since about 2012. Even last year we had a freshman in the 2 deep.
