re: Burrow comes in at 9 inches - eltigre2
IMO Burrow’s ability to read the field and confidently run the offense comes from a little known fact .... Burrow was an ALL STATE Point Guard in basketball in Ohio. He could have had a basketball schollie somewhere. The coaches in 2019 just harnessed these skills to a football player. His ability t...

re: 5 Star 2022 QB Maalik Murphy - eltigre2
Is he Archie’s son or grandson? Archie’s wife would be the stop in the matter. She kept the sons from considering LSU. But Payton went to TN. So it is not iron clad to Ole Miss. I also think Coach O is not in bad with the Mannings. But we shall see. If he really wanted to come to LSU they might l...

re: Grad Transfer. - eltigre2
I am sure that the LSU coaches believe Brennan can do the job. There have been several proven QB go into the portal and LSU did not make a move toward them. I interpret this as meaning they think Brennan will do it. Brennan is now a mature player who has set in the same room as Joe Burrow while ...

re: O’Neal legacy - eltigre2
Akeem Olaujuwan was probably the best big man ever. He was the most athletic, by far and away the best shooter and shot blocker of the big men. But Wilt and Shaq were also great. ...

re: XFL Draft Freshman & Sophomore - eltigre2
The first priority of the XFL is to draft the top sophomore and freshmen out of the college ranks and start them on a pro career. The XFL has nothing to do with the NFL and their agreement with their union to to not take players until they have been out of HS 3 years. The XFL has no such agreement. ...

re: Wish John Ferguson and Walter Hill could have been around to have seen the 15-0 Tigers. - eltigre2
Funny thing I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. At this senior place I stay about 10 days ago a guy told me he had a high school friend who played at LSU in the late 1950s. His hometown in Illinois was really proud of him and wondered if I ever heard of him. Before he said anything else I...

re: Article on Linehan split from Dallas - eltigre2
That article was written in January of 2019. The Cowboys 2019 season was much worse without Linehan. It makes you wonder if the Cowboys didn’t have a problem similar to The LSU problem when Les Miles was coach. Maybe the offensive philosophy was dictated from on high....

re: The 2020 schedule is perfect for this football team - eltigre2
It is unusual for LSU to have 2 really tough games in the first 8 and they are TX and FL, both spread apart. But the last 4 are a bitch the way they lineup with AU after AL followed by AR and A&M. But then Pelini’s should be seasoned and Brennan in a comfortable place. ...

re: My theory is that Linehan was brought in specifically to coach up Brennan. - eltigre2
He was brought into help coach up every young QB we have. He is proficient in all parts of the offense and adjust the offense to the talent LSU has. In addition, just as important he was brought in to improve the spread offense we have, specifically in the red zone and 3rd down. He is proficient in ...

re: College Station experience..... - eltigre2
Most people stay on the N and W side of Houston. It is about an 1 1/2 hour drive at the most to AM. But be prepared to take awhile to get to the stadium once you get to College Station. Accommodations and Restaurants are much easier to find and generally better....

re: 2020 narrative: "Dayum, Brennan can ball!" - eltigre2
I disagree that the 3rd and 17 in the TX game gave confidence in Burrow to the team. The team already had the confidence in Burrow which made the 3rd and 17 happen. I remember the one of the WR saying, “We knew that play was going to work because we had run it 100 times and it always worked with...

More on this story than that. It was really way more zany than that. The UT coaches went to see him on a home visit and he told them he was going to LSU. They said let’s go get something to eat and convinced him to take one more look at Austin. They took him to UT and put him in a room with guards i...

The KC Chiefs DC said when Mathieu walked thrust the door it changed the culture of the Chief’s D. I remember a Houston Texan player saying much the same thing the year Mathieu was with the Texans. Roughly he said something like, “it is hard to believe how much you can learn about playing defense fr...
