Sampson is going to be a serious problem for sec defenses for years to come.
That was not a routine catch on the nuss ball to the end zone.
The timing was kind of weird for where he was in the endzone. I think that is why it hit his hands.
He will easily figur3 that out.

Remember when Jamarr Chase couldn't catch a ball in his rookie preseason? Everyone thought he'd be a bust. Sampson will be fine.

On the upside, he actually separated enough to be open. There have been several top wr kids struggle early on. Doucet comes to mind, but he also made some big plays that same year. Boutte and Clayton are some of the only freshmen wrs that were consistent and utilized in most games.

It appears so. Think we now know why he’s not at Bama.

A 5 star recruit highly regarded recruit should not drop 2 easy touchdown passes
Why, the upper classman all-american WR did in the FSU game last year?

It’s always been said he has confidence issues
You hope he grows out of that with the team psychologists and some Tigerland tail

Jarvis Landry had multiple drops until his junior year
No sir! Landry had great hands from the day he stepped on campus. I’m sure he dropped a couple, but not many. He didn’t play his freshman year. As I recall, the first play of his sophomore year he was thrown to on an out and made a diving reception.

Did we sell that Jugs machine after the 2019 season?

Can we revisit this thread in a couple years when Sampson is the leading receiver on the team?
Posted on 9/10/23 at 9:09 pm to 225Tyga
I bet he can play receiver better than you.

Sampson will be alright.
I feel like no FR had it worse than Brandon Lafell and he ended up top 5 all-time in receiving yards for LSU and #2 in TDs. That was with Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee as FR/SO at QB, too.

They gave up on Trey Palmer to soon because of drops, now he’s scoring TDs in the NFL

This was the worst drop I recall. Not only did we drop it it bounced right to an Auburn DB for an int.
LaFell drop vs AUB '07
And Brandon LaFell was a very good WR.
Another drop - this one by D. Byrd:
D. Byrd drop vs AU '07
Would take LaFell and Byrd at WR anytime. Drops happen. And recovering from drops happen too.

I can’t believe we have a thread on this
The kid was a 5 star. He didn’t have bands problems for 3 years in high school. Dropping 1 or 2 balls isn’t that big of a deal
