I’m ok with the warning. It was definitely excessive. I’m also totally fine with DarDar doing it in that moment. Love to see the fire that we haven’t seen in awhile.

Excess celebration rules are dumb. Unless it's significantly delaying the game or offensive, just let them have fun.

And if it had landed on one of his teammate’s head maybe you would think the bat flip should be under control.

Considering Kentucky was bat flipping and staring down pitchers for walks. Yeah, for base on balls

I'm more than fine with it.

Just proves what a douche Mangione is. His guys flip bats for walks then he gets pissed when it gets done to him.

Someone needs to make a circle or something around the bat to show it's rising and falling. Would be awesome addition to the gif.

Were the umps ok with that?

No they weren’t. HP ump saw it and promptly looked at Jay. I don’t think anything was said. He then walked straight to the 3B ump while signaling for UK HC to stay in the dugout, which he did, and called all the umpires for a crew meeting. They met and handed out a warning. That’s when the pitching coach for UK lost his mind.

I was there behind home plate towards the home team side. That bat was LAUNCHED. But to be honest, I don’t think Dardar meant for it to go that high. Honest heat of the moment kind of thing. Umpire crew thought so too.

BUT, that HR was the turning point of the game and the team knew it. For the first time you could tell the team knew they could win. I thought the warning was fair but they absolutely could have tossed him based on the current rule.

All of this. You can't throw a bat 100 feet in the air after blasting a HR and expect to not get a warning

They scored 10 runs, nothing is “douchy” when your arse can’t get off the field.
Jay delayed the game twice in the 8th to try to end it there on time. Is he “douchy”?

Coaches arguing after a ruling to have a player tossed is complete bush league. It’s embarrassing. Argue for calls, or outs or strikes or anything that affects the score. But just wanting a player tossed? Pathetic.

Rumor has it the bat went into orbit. In fact, I think it passed by North Shreveport about 45 minutes ago.

Double Dar!

I understand that this happened in a huge moment but its Kentucky. Act like you have been there before. Especially for a program with the accolades of LSU.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

That was ridiculous how high he threw. Definitely deserved a warning and I can understand why UK would be mad. We would be as well if Tenn or A&M did that to us.
I really regret missing this game. I might have to catch it on app. This could be the spark that sends them on a run.

This is the way.

[Sarcasm] Fontenot's glove toss was far more offensive than Dardar's bat launch.

Normally I'd say it was excessive. But, the fact that Mangina's players pitch the bat all the way to the wall when they get walked, I'll allow it.

Exactly. I LMAO when I saw the bat flipping high in the air as they were tracking the ball towards RF. I said out loud, hope he does not get ejected and they scratch his run. GREAT W for the Tigers. Build on it boys, and don't look back.
