LSU should not be subsidizing a private school’s athletic department. The regular $5 face value for a Tulane football ticket would suddenly jump to $250 for the LSU game in the Dome. Never forget the BS they pulled for the 2001 Super Regional.

I have no problem playing Tulane in New Orleans as long as that game is at the Superdome.

Tulane needs to get off their high horse. Everyone benefits from playing in Baton Rouge. No one benefits from
Playing at Tulane. Even the game in 2007 in the dome was a failure, wasn’t half full. Tulane telling LSU that would be same as Southeastern demanding that Tulane must come to Strawberry Stadium. Matter of fact it is worse that at least SLU was competitive with Tulane.

logjamming: I have been on this site for a number of years & your comment that the tulame game experience is better than LSU is the worst statement I have ever read.....by far! MORE PEOPLE WATCH THE LSU BAND MARCH DOWN THE HILL THAT WATCH A TULAME FOOTBALL GAME! More people watch a Holy Cross vs. Jesuit game at City Park than watch a tulame football game. Want me to go on?
For the record, I would like to see the game played. We will need an end of season game when the Aggies & Longhorns began play again, & that will happen. I think playing in state tulame each year looks better on the schedule than a rent a win. If you go to their site, the lil' greenies agree that their stadium only sits 22K & they average 8K for a game, 12 is considered a sell out for them. Put the clause in the contract: all games played in BR until Tulame beats LSU twice in a row. Then we could talk about a 4 or 5 to 1.....w/the 1 in the Dome.

I would give Tulane one game at outdoor stadium in New Orleans, one in superdome and two in tiger stadium

That 2007 game in the Dome was such a mess. 11 am. LSU slept through most of the game. Dead crowd.

There’s a strategic recruiting reason for that. There is none for playing in NOLA.

Houston is one of our biggest alumni and recruiting hotbeds and also guessing Woody wasn’t around when they scheduled that one.

A game in the Dome would be very beneficial to LSU’s New Orleans recruiting.... just saying.

The Tulane home stadium is tiny.

I watched Memphis @ Tulane a few years ago. The Memphis side was packed. The Tulane side between the 20s was nearly vacant.

If LSU played there, the whole stadium would be P&G.

The game is being played at NRG, not Rice's football stadium

We have before..... I’d rather a home and home with Tulane than play Southern ever.

I’m sorry but we don’t go play an away game at Tulane

LSU is playing Rice in Houston

LSU recruits Houston heavily, and has to contend with A&M and now a resurgent Texas program.

LSU also recruits Nola, but already has that locked down.

I fail to understand WHY this matters.
LSU travels better than most anyone in the country. LSU is basically "in" NOLA as far as the world thinks of us anyway.
So what if the stadium is 30,000. Vanderbilt is 40,000 & we TOOK that joint over + drank them out of beer in the 1st half for an 11am game.
LSU will buy MORE tickets straight up AND on the resale market, dominate the stadium + game, & drink all weekend. The PR from the news of the fan domination of the stadium alone will be enough to cover any "lost revenue" we stand to earn from playing in the Superdome. And IF Scott Woodward is the best damn AD that we all KNOW he is: then he'll still manage to get us 7 home games in Tiger Stadium that season. 7 + 1 in NOLA is a damn good Fall to enjoy for the LSU faithful...

What? Is? The? Problem?

Hey fellow Chalmation, I will believe OU coming to NIMBA Stadium when I see it. That is why God put escape clauses in contract.

the Super Regional that could have been in old Turchin, not the nice one they have now? It moved to Zephyr Field and gave more opportunity for LSU fans to get in on the secondary market. You should thank them for that if you were there.
