Pedo or not, the country was 100 times in better shape then than it is now.

I don’t think you get that that is the entire reason why people like it being played.

I mean they'd still be playing every game if the student section behaved... I know thats like asking Biden to not touch children.

Nah, it was perfectly fine for years before the students ruined it.

This. Just like they speed up the pregame claps/drumbeat as the band walks out and finish the alma mater 15 seconds before the band and everyone else.

And when did the post-touchdown T-I-G-E-R-S spellout immediately go to "Tigers"?

It used to be that the band would hold that last note after "S", and you wouldn't yell "Tigers" until after the PAT.

Every week, it's the same thing.

Folks, Tiger Band isn't going to play Neck again. It's been almost a decade.

I've been going to LSU games since the mid 80s, and I don't ever remember this. They still hold the note that leads into "Fight for LSU" until after the PAT, but I don't ever remember the crowd not shouting "TIGERS!" right away.

Yeah, it's probably more likely the band director gets fired.

Is he still the interim band director? Would we not get halftime tributes to salsa and polka music? What would happen if we got a BD that liked a big brass sound again?

Yes! I remember when we did it like this. I was in the tigerband in 2000 and we definitely did this.
We would hold the last note of the touchdown song but real low….until after the PAT was good. Then we would hit the last note HARD and the crowd would yell Tigers!!!!!
Loved it like that.
Now they don’t do it.

As simply as I can in a language TD will understand

LSU told the students “frick around and find out”. They fricked around and found out. It’s gone, sadly.

Yes. The "interim" director is still there. He's a yes man to Todd Queen and Damon Talley, so he's not going anywhere.

I’m curious if the band even knows how to play neck now. They may not practice it anymore and the newer members may not know how to play it. I’ve never been in a band so I don’t know how that works but I’d imagine they’d be a little rusty.

I'm sure some of them know it. Seems like something some band members would take initiative to learn.

If people wouldn’t have overreacted, the chant would have evolved by now.
