It’s one thing playing in Starkville, but if MSU beats LSU in BR, that may be the nail in Alleva’s coffin.

Should be too.

As far as Orgeron, his buy out after this year is 8.5 MM. so LSU can start over with a total buy out of about 10MM from both of those guys and just pay a coach what coaches make.

Incorrect. O’s buyout STARTS at $8.5 million in 2018, as in January 1, 2018. And it goes down every time he gets a paycheck. So if he gets fired in November of this season, the buyout is about $5.2 million. There is literally an example using a date in November 2018 in his contract.

LSU has all their contracts online now:

O Contract

ETA: it’s also payable in installments with $2 million due 60 days from termination. O can be fired very cheaply this Thanksgiving if need be.

Alleva can be fired for MUCH less. I’d be ok with that.

Come on now... if Dak couldn’t win it, no way in hell does Fitz win it passing for barely over 50% completions.

Be realistic about Fitz for once. He’s a good athlete, but like Jalen Hurts, he’s not a real QB.

Etling was a better passer than him. Fitz just could scramble.

Well, he looked like Cam Newton against us last year. Point made by State fan.

Too many questions and inexperience all over our offense to predict a good (10-2) season, IMO. I have been predicting 9-3 but I am wavering back to 8-4. I think our O is going to have real problems sustaining drives and finishing in the Red Zone.

4 losses

2 to @Auburn and bama

1 to either Miami or UGA

1 to either Florida or State.

We are not losing to Texas A&M this season.

That is correct. He makes $750k a year, but not all of it counts for his buyout. I can’t look it up on mobile but the link above gets you to his contract fairly easily. IIRC his buyout would have been right at $1 million, reduced by other salary, if he’d been fired in July. It has gone down since then.

If he ends up with a mid major AD job, LSU probably ends up paying him under $500k total in buyout money.

Man, I like your style. I love the high expectations!!! You exemplify an LSU fan. I wish more of these pussies would follow your lead instead of making excuses.

Sounds about right to me- about what I’d predict including orgeron ain’t getting fired this year. Y’all are delusional if you think he is.

When was the last time LSU failed to win 8 games?

Let that happen I'll do a 1 year ban bet that he doesn't make it if that's the case.

LSU went 7-5 in 2014 and 7-5 in 2008. The defenses varied widely from awful (2008) to extremely good (2014). The offense in 08 was actually pretty good outside of Lee being a pick 6 machine, and the offense in 2014 was just awful outside of Fournette.

Like I've said multiple times we can have an incredible defense, but if you can't score, it goes to waste.

He's the type of fan that shits on other teams before doing his research, and also props up his own team WAY too highly, before again, doing research.

No one ever said it wasn't a tough schedule. Of course it is. It's just not any tougher than our schedule has been outside if last year. The reason LSU could be an underdog in all of those games is because of the way we lost games last year.

No some of those schedules became tougher during the season (2014 for example), but for the most part none had this many heavy hitters before the season. There are at least 5 teams on this schedule that will win 10+ games (bowl game included). It's also not because of just last year. In 2016 LSU lost to Wisconsin, UF, Auburn, and Bama. We had one good win, and it was the bowl game.

Since 2014 LSU has played 13 10+ win teams (the two Go5 10+ win teams included). We have won 4 of those with 2 coming in 2014 and one of the four being against Western Kentucky. With the waning years of Miles's tenure and continued with the failure of O's beginning year and a half, we have been pretty bad vs really good teams for a while.

Start winning a few of those games and the perception will change in a hurry.

This is stating the obvious, but extreme homer LSU fans, not just O sycophants, do need to read/hear it every once in a while.

I am by no means saying LSU will make the playoffs. So please don't be an arse-hat and misunderstand what I'm saying but nobody thought Georgia would do what they did last year after going 6-6before last year.

Actually, UGA went 7-5(8-5).

UGA also played an easy schedule (regular season), had immense help from a top 4 QB prospect, two former 5 star 2400+ yard career rushers who were seniors, a 3rd 5 star RB, a loaded OL, and experienced WRs. That was coming into the season. LSU has absolutely none of that.

Sure nobody really expected UGA to go to the playoffs, but many expected a 10 win regular season. Hell after the first 2 games (ND, App St wins), the FPI was spot on predicting them to finish the season 11-1 with their lone loss being to Auburn.

There is almost nobody but LSU fans expecting us to do any better than 7-5. Realistically with the OL developments and no chance of Fulton, my 9-3 prediction now goes down to 8-4.

We aren't even close in comparison of anything right now to suggest we'd have an UGA type season other than, 'shite happens'.

All three of those teams had not only disasters at QB, but mediocre to bad LSU defenses by LSU standards.

Actually 2014 had the 9th ranked total defense and 4th ranked scoring defense. They were damn good. Their problem that year was playing really good dual threats. Outside of Miss St, Auburn, and ND, they held teams, including conference teams, well below their season average (I'm talking a 2+ TD difference).
