Two teams definitely have better head coaches. The one we're unsure of is taking over a team that stomped us last year, and brings a lot back.

Mississippi State went on to get blown the frick out by teams we beat last year and finished 4-4 in conference. That's like saying that people expect us to lose to troy again this year because they beat us last year.

Miami is on what, a 3 game losing streak?

We did.. beat Auburn last year, right?

UGA and Alabama - I'll give you that. However, they are both home games... this is a new era if LSU is ok with us not splitting that or doesn't expect us to split that.

Texas A&M hasn't beat us since they've been in the conference, and unless something changed, Jimbo didn't light it up in recruiting for 2017, finishing #17 overall.

The team this year at LSU, from what we as fans know, should be a much improved defense and an offense that is still in the works, but has improved in all the spots they were criticized in last year. The smallest amount of research would show anyone that we have top talent in the country in most of our secondary, our line backers, the Dline (having multiple 5 stars and returning talent), on offense we have a transfer and several other top recruits who are expected to be able to perform, we have the #1 wide out in the country and he's currently behind a different recruit we got, along with what.. 10 others? We are far deeper on OL - and....

We should be ok with losing these games based on media predictions, furthermore, our local media shouldn't have the knowledge or counter arguments I just made?

Ok - whatever.

TAMU was only second to UT in total revenue, but spent far less

this misinformation continues to find it's way on here (and probably believed to be true) by misinformed people or just too lazy or with no business background.

for the umpteenth time, A&M includes alumni donations to rebuilt their stadium as athletic department revenues; an accounting procedure that other universities do NOT use. for example, LSU's Tiger Stadium additions has for years been funded by the TAF yet they are NOT included in LSU's athletic department revenues. I have no idea why the aggies do it this way. capital expenditures are accounted for separately by every organization I know of.

when you remove those contributions they have SIGNIFICANTLY lower revenues to run the rest of their department. they still have a lot and before their capital campaign had less per year than LSU. I don't know their latest revenues due their accounting crap. I do know that before they joined the sec, the aggies athletic department WAS IN THE RED. fact

If LSU loses to Ole Miss (who almost always plays LSU close in BR), they could start 2-7. Look at the schedule.

Nothing but propaganda to lower expectations and make the same results that got Miles fired look like some big achievement.

This is what Prince and O want you to think.

We aren’t losing 5 games. I don’t even think we lose 4. I think we go 9-3 and they will spin it as some big accomplishment because of these 5 loss predictions when in reality we should be a 10-2 team.

With this defense and a QB with the skill set of Burrow trainer by Urban Meyer there is absolutely no way even O can frick it up bad enough to go 7-5.

Half of our SEC opponents are coming off of dumpster fire years with new coaches and even MSU has a first year coach that has never been in the SEC and is in Tiger Stadium.

We play three really good teams, two at home, and a hyped up ACC team on neutral field. No one else in the top 18.

If we go 7-5 it will be an unmitigated disaster and it will only get much much worse as the new SEC coaches build their programs back up.

Since 2001, an LSU coach has lost more than three regular season games only THREE TIMES:

2002
2008
2014

All three of those teams had not only disasters at QB, but mediocre to bad LSU defenses by LSU standards.

With this Aranda defense and an Urban Meyer trained 4th year QB I see no way O survives if this team is added to that awful list.

Don’t fall into the same trap O and Prince user so successfully in 2016 and 2017.

This is a very talented LSU roster and only a complete failure to prepare it by O will have this team at 8-4 or below

I do believe barring a total catastrophe, Oeaux will be back for next year. However, 5 or 6 losses and IMO, Alleva is out and the next AD gives Oeaux an extremely short leash and I would say barring a really good season in 2019, the Oeaux experiment, Ponamsky and the Binder will be done at LSU.

Don't want to disappoint you but Scott may be on the money on this one. O has a huge support among boosters. 7-5 would be Rocky for him- he would need a BIG win in those 7 wins and no goofy losses.

The schedule is no more difficult than it's been the last 15 years.

If we are underdogs in all those it's bc Eaux is not respected by anyone but his loyalists who post here. Beat Troy and stay within 30 of Miss state and the discussion is a lot different.

Facts say Eaux is not a good head coach. It's not hard to understand the shift in perception around our program since 2016

Watch how fast boosters turn on him with 5+ losses. They’ll throw him under the bus faster than he did Nick Brossette and the kickers on his show.

Miami (FL) - Underdog
9/8 Southeastern LA - Win
9/15 at Auburn - Loss
9/22 Louisiana Tech - Win
9/29 Ole Miss - Likely win...but
10/6 at Florida - Toss Up
10/13 Georgia - Loss
10/20 Mississippi St. - Toss Up
11/3 Alabama - Loss
11/10 at Arkansas - Win
11/17 Rice - Win
11/24 at Texas A&M - Toss up

There are 4 wins on the schedule and at least 3 nearly sure fire losses. Of the five remaining, we could lose the all or win them all...likely something in the middle happens.

However, we have the worst HC coach in OM history coaching us with a geriatric OC and receiving coach.

Who knows. Is starting 2-7 likely? No. Is it possible? Absolutely

Les gets $125k/mo through 2022.

His $10m buyout is being paid out monthly over 6 years

bullshite. O does not have support of boosters at all. However, they know that to get rid of him means you first must get rid of Alleva (and maybe even Alexander). The casual fan has no clue how bad this situation really is for LSU.

It all depends on revenue. The only thing our AD cares about is the bottom line. Keep renewing your season tickets and buying LSU merchandise and he will stay.

couldn’t he be fired with cause for breach of contract? Didn’t he promise to hire the best offensive coordinator? Didn’t he fail to do that? If we go 6-6 isn’t that a breach of contract as he was hired for continuity and 6-6 is worse than we’ve gone in over a decade?

I see ways out of paying him his buyout.

The over under on LSU is set at 7.5 so 7-5 seems to be the perceived expectations. So I think we finish anything between 6-6 and 8-4.

If we finish 7-5 or worse, I think there will be talk of firing O. He will be on the hot seat... But Alleva will be as well and will be ready to make a move sooner than later.
