Those terms are acceptable. 8-4, win the bowl.

@ A&M, Tennessee, Ole Miss, @ Arkansas, @ Florida, Bama that’s 6 really tough games given our roster and the competition. If we could go .500 in those and finish 9-3 it would be a win. 7-5 wouldn’t surprise me nor would 10-2 will depend on the OLine, how quick and effective the coordinators get acclimated, and the completely rebuilt secondary being good and cohesive.

The defense will be a lot better than the talking heads think. I think we all underestimated how much input O was having on defense. It was embarrassing to learn that Kiffin had to tell O to blitz.

House is a damn good DC and will have them ready game one. Coupling a competent coach/scheme with the elite DL, an emerging LB crops, and experienced transfers in the secondary could result in a top 20 defense easily.

If the OL can gel and get push and open lanes for our stable of RBs we should easily win 8 games. Having a run game is the most important aspect on offense this year.

If the defense does gel early, watch out. Get past Tennessee and LSU is going into the bye week undefeated.

I'd be very happy with 8-4, ecstatic about 9-3.

Why???

They went .500 in the regular season last year with half a roster and a lame duck coaching staff.

I don’t see how this year won’t be 2 wins better.

I think 8-4 is a reasonable expectation in year 1 of BKs tenure. But I also think 9-3 is not out of the question. Better than that might not be realistic this year, but I think we have a better chance at 10 wins than only 6.

You might want to look again. Traditionally yes that’s true. This year there is quite a few schools more talented.

7.5 should be the O/U line

The even year schedule is always tougher with road trips to Auburn, Florida and A&M. Also, the strange reality is LSU is better AT Alabama than against them in Tiger Stadium.

That said, even with a new staff. Even with, perhaps, less talent than other LSU teams, does the schedule really look insurmountable? Alabama is the only team which you can say is clearly better than LSU. A&M might have more talent as well. But I just watched them barely go 1-1 vs the two worst LSU teams in 20 years...led by the worst LSU HC in 30 years.

It is understandable why people aren't high on LSU after the last two seasons. But I also think people SEVERELY underestimate just how bad a coach Orgeron was. From 2017-2019 he had very little input within the actual game play. Aranda completely controlled the defense and Ed just had to accept whatever the offense brought to the table because HE didn't have the capacity to change anything. The MOMENT Aranda left, he implemented his USC/Miami fan-fiction defense and began hiring a string of coordinators with ZERO market demand whatsoever (for a reason). That directly correlated with LSU's collapse.

The "glitch" has now been fixed. So even if this isn't LSU's most talented team in the last 20 years or so, by default they will be better than the last two teams simply because they don't have a complete moron at the helm.

8-4 would be considered a success based on the turnover and talent we have. We patched together our OL with transfers and a Freshman. We aren’t stacked with talent, the players are all learning new systems, and we aren’t deep on OL DB or LB. If everything clicks maybe 10-2…maybe.

I would be happy with 2-10 as long as the wins are against Arky and Ole Piss. Especially Arky. I live among these heathens and can't take another loss to them.

Yikes. We've changed regimes, but it seems that Kelly's Heroes are just as delusional as the Cheery O's.

3 years of less average football is so depressing but 2019 was the greatest season of all time.

Can someone explain to me why lsu has such a drop off after winning the NC the following year.

I think 9-3 is very possible. Even though 8-4 is the majority pick. But, this team has a lot of talent. The defense will be down right nasty. The running game will be better despite the OL. Our receivers are awesome. I personally think 10-2 is the outcome. GEAUX TIGERS !
