But that's impossible! The Twitter lawyers had 24 hours of celebration and swore the SEC was a voluntary conference and could do whatever they wanted!

Yep. I will instead listen to the very well educated people of TigerDroppings instead.

The SEC ONLY argument as I see it, is that they're not prohibiting anyone from doing anything, and the players can be eligible. They just will the enforce institutions that choose to play them. That's their only way out of this that I see, and they're probably within their right unless the schools sue them once the penalties are levied. It's a complete clusterfrick all the way around

That's not how this works. You can't coerce a school to breach a court order allowing those players to play.

I understand what you're saying, but the court order doesn't say which school they can play for, only that they're eligible for NCAA competition.

Thank you pirate King. I mean at least there's some on here that understand the law and you are one that obviously does and it is so crazy. I mean we're talking about players that may not even play but the SEC the Big 12 or the Big 10 the ACC they have screwed up with trying to enjoin and keep these players from playing. I mean broad just fall on the sword. You're talking one year one year. Let them play. Most of them are probably not going to play anyway. Just back down because I'm telling you the antitrust lawsuits are going to come trouble damages, Rico damages. Who knows it may not even be any conference at anymore. Thank you Pirate King. And what I mean by trying to keep these players from playing anybody with any common sense knows good and well that if you're trying to do these penalties against a coach against a team against a university, I mean you're keeping the players from playing. They're not a university is not going to play them for those type of sanctions trying to be put against them. So call it whatever you want to. Oh I hear all these people say it always against the institution not against the players BS. You all know good and well it's against the players

Sankey did himself no favors with the penalty he went with.

he was dumb enough not to say this new rule goes into effect in 30 days.

Would have saved himself a big headache to just let this wave go through and move forward.

This attorney was on the radio today explaining his position. It sounded pretty convincing to me, especially so for the players who got caught up in the timing snafu with the 5 to play 5 rule.

It’s not just us though it’s like half the teams in the sec that had players involved in this. We just get the attention because Lane and Wade.

Pinned post in LSU recruiting thread. Has a litigation tracker. I’ll link it here.

Updated this morning so today’s rulings will probably be on there tomorrow.
