Saban changed the culture bur I still say Dinardo recruited well and left Saban with a good nucleus.

I would not disagree there, Dinardo also got the ball rolling on facility improvements. He had to be the bad guy and piss folks off to get it done to but by the time Saban came in - it was still a battle but there was some precedent.

I believe it was something like 24-26 NFL players already on the roster.

Agreed, and Miles was coming off back to back 11-2 seasons when Saban became available. Miles won the NC that year. Anyone who says we could have fired Miles that year (before 2007) is looking at it from a view way in the future. No one was saying that back then.

A big big reason for the turnaround was mark Emmert. LSU was the cheapskate program in the SEC. He changed immediately by paying top dollar for saban. And increasing the budget to hire assistants and such.

He is the reason Saban was even at LSU to begin with.

You should be thankful for the resurgence and complete turnaround of LSU football that he started that has now lasted 26 years.

2000 was also my first year at LSU. I’m not saying I caused the turnaround, but I certainly contributed.
