Our O-line performed poorly against LA Tech as well. I just don't think the linemen we have are as good as advertised.

I know our o-line isn’t great, but do you know how perfect the O-line has to be when there is nothing that makes the d-line guess? When a d-line knows what’s coming and knows the snap count they are gonna beat even a more talented o-line 9 times out of 10. If you keep a defense guessing the d-line and linebackers have to hang back a little bit before rushing the passer or attacking a gap. That helps mask deficiencies on an O-line.

I know the line isn’t as talented as we would like, but I think scheme makes them look worse than they really are.

I'm absolutely not trying to give the O-line a pass. Simply saying that far less talented teams have scored on Bama's first team defense.

That’s partly on Cregg but scheme definitely is a factor. There are plenty teams with less talented OL that can be effective passing etc.

The offensive line is terrible. I don't believe that any scheme would work if the offensive line steps out of the defensive guy's way so he can get to the QB.

I’m guessing Ryan Clark caught a couple drives of the game and thinks he’s expertly qualified to comment on it

Scheme will get you so far, but you also have to have the Jimmies and Joes to match up against the opposing team's players. Like I said before, I'm for LSU going to a spread offense. But Clark's saying "it was 100% scheme" against Bama the other night is just hyperbolic.

We have an offense that should move the ball at will against FCS teams.

330 yards against SELU is because LSU has inferior talent or because scheme?

I’m guessing Clark is pretty qualified to comment on football in general.

Without an offensive line that can block and give your QB time to throw, NO scheme will save us against Bama

We were the only team to hold Alabama under 30 points

We were the only team to get an interception on Tua

Despite this we were also the only team to get shut out

8 other teams scored points on Alabama. The idea that their defense is invincible is beyond absurd

It's the scheme

WTF are people even arguing about here?

It's not a matter of it being 100% or the other. Who gives a shite?

The bottom line is, can we improve with either?

YES! frickING YES!

We need improvement in both. If you don't see that you are blind, cajun, bias fool!

When our offensive coaches say they have a few wrinkles it means they added one double reverse and maybe a couple wild cat plays.

We didn't even get that against Bama. We got absolutely nothing creative. Pretty mind-boggling. Astonishing that they would play it like that two times in a row in Tiger Stadium. On top of that, we punted at the Bama 38 and kicked a FG at the 15 down 22 with 10 minutes left. They laid a total egg.

I agree that Bama is more talented on D-line than we are in the O-line. I don’t think there are many other teams out there that are, though. Unless we are just that bad at evaluating O-line every year.

It may be arguable there’s schematically some things they can do better, but to say it’s 100% is dumb

Don't take everything so literally. What he means is that's the most glaring problem that needs to be addressed.

Do you think our online is less talented than any of Bamas other opponents which were able to move the ball and score?

It is scheme. Our coach thinks a watered down version of late 20th century early 21st century USC is innovative.

I'm beginning to think we've been sold a bill of goods about how good some of our linemen are. We may very well have an evaluation of talent/development of talent problem, Idk.

All of the people in here agree that our scheme needs to get better. I have no fricking clue why people are arguing about this shite. There's nothing to argue about. We need more beef on the line. We need a new offensive coordinator. That's it. End of story.

But the idea that no coordinator could out up points with our offensive line is absurd and just cover for poor coaching

Interesting, so the reason we can't run the ball, protect our QB and sack their QB is scheme!!!
