Florida boosters are pretty damn weak and uninspired compared to the rest of the big boys of the SEC. I think anyone smart coach would stay away in the modern game

Agree. Throwing wheelbarrows of cash at a coach doesn’t guarantee success. I’d rather take the safer road and take a chance on an up and comer who’s good at X’s and O’s and take the cash I saved and put it towards the roster.

Better players and much cheaper buyout if it doesn’t work out.

Florida is a championship caliber program just waiting for a coach to come in arrange the pieces.

Money might not be the only factor but winning a trophy generally gets coaches fired up.

Does anyone think that Kiffin can win a championship At ole miss?

Aren't his kids all close to being out of high school?

I have no inside info but I don't think he is going to say no to this

Who are Can and Will and why are they offering to pay Lane Kiffin so much money?

Is it worth it to pay coaches that type of money when you'll need to spend like 20 million or more on a roster to compete, and pay for facility upgrades.

Kiffin's dream job is LSU.

Anyone know anything about him being close to taking the Auburn job but his daughter stopped him from going? I’m just curious.

Totally agree. That’s the way to do it in the current landscape 1000%

IMO You will see more big time jobs going to experienced coordinators in the coming years and less of the “headliner” hires

IMO...Lane Kiffin goes to UF and is fired in 4 years. No championships of any kind. Stay at OMiss for his career and be an icon in Mississippi.

Ole Miss has spent over $10 million more than LSU over the past 2 seasons (2024-2025) and is 1-1 versus LSU.

I feel like once coaches start making near $10m/year a year, the ability to lure them away for even a better perceived job is going to get harder and harder. - FL offers $13m/yr, if OM counters in the $11-$12 range with an extra year or two, why leave and start over?

If Indiana can pay a coach $11.5m a year, the value of leaving for a slightly more prestigious job becomes less appealing. In the NIL era, and transfer rules now, I don’t think coaches will stay in the profession as long as in the past. Get that giant guaranteed bag as young as possible and ride off into the sunset or try and become an nfl assistant. Having to sell 18-19-20 year olds 24/7 has got to get old

It’s not about the money when Ole Miss would certainly match.
Kiffin knows Florida has resources for success

unless they totally melt down, they're gonna be in the playoffs this year. Anything can happen once you get in.

Has this really proven to be true? I feel like the favorites have generally won it or made it far.

The team that won it was Ohio State who was pretty definitively top 3 in talent on their roster. Much more talented than any underdog team will be.

Where is Ole Miss getting 80 million?? They haven’t won a National Championship since 1962. They have a good Coach and recruiter but they’re not throwing that much money around.
