~Welcome aboard Mr. President. Hey we're pretty pressed for time on this head coach search. We need to present some stability. Now that you're on board, we'd like you to go ahead and remove the interim tag from Verge. Great guy, loves LSU, been here 30 years. Hes perfect for the job. Everybody thinks so. Just need your say so
~Uh yeah ok. Well if everybody around here thinks so highly of him and it'll help the coaching search. Hes the permanent AD.

Throughout the past 2 weeks I have maintained the thought that LSU is making all of these moves with no actual plan and every time somebody puts a microphone in front of them they continue to prove it... It's incredible

Yep. Does anybody know the details of Verge's contract? Has he been promoted but under the same contract he was previously under? One would assume a removal of the interim tag would come with a pay increase, but I pray for our own sake that he is still under his assistant AD contract and we have the ability to cut bait quickly if he screws this up.

He does not have a new contract. All of that stuff has to go through the BOS.

Historically, hiring or firing an AD requires Board of Supervisors vote/approval of contract. The President would have to make a recommendation to the Board. I thought this must have happened at yesterdays meeting for Rouse to be saying the interim tag was removed.

So what's the implication here? Did Piper make up the quote? Did she force Rousse to say it at gunpoint? Or are you just upset that she had the audacity to publish *checks notes* the words Rousse said?

Im just trying to guess here… but what I maybe think he was thinking and shouldn’t have tried to say out loud…. “yeah, to me this is common sense. Verge is our AD until he’s not. Interim/Permanent are irrelevant/unnecessary terms to me in this context… He’s our AD until he’s not, just like anyone in any other position.”
No matter how you slice it, comments were unnecessary/ambiguous/unclear and shouldn’t have been made.
