Woody’s not giving up his cushy $1M plus job of glad handing, free cocktail/finger food hours to have to go to work!
His last 3 FB contracts have given you JIMBO, O after the Natty and BK that should tell you no more ever! Stick to fundraising and non revenue sports.
He and Verge both shouldn’t be allowed to do anything FB related!

NIL has made the game to where the players now run the program, and it’s going to be harder and harder for coaches to keep things together.
I don’t think it’s not trying/lack of effor from players, but it is the above basically. Saban always wanted complete control (not a bad thing) and he lost it after NIL and transfer portal changes. He essentially said you have players wanting pay increases the day after the season ended or they’ll transfer. The college football world changed and he understandably didn’t want to continue in the new version.

It has already been stated by decision makers. Woodward will not make the next hire.

This is why the ensuing search is going to be a cluster-frick. There is no university president. The BOS is stacked with “good ole boy” campaign donors rather than qualified people serving a publicly whore moron in the Governor’s mansion. All will be involved in this. And to the degree this mess has any leadership, it’s an AD whose biggest claim to fame is handing out two of the worst contracts in CFB history. He’ll let the inmates run the asylum so to speak because he knows they will just dump him if they don’t get their way.

Yes, even in your local municipality

We have ESOL LSU powerbrokers?

Years ago on Limbaugh's show, Ken Hutchinson, "The Hutch" predicted all of this. Something to the effect of when your mid tier players are getting paid the same or more than the coach, like the NBA, the coach becomes a figurehead

Bills owner is a big Penn State donor and alum. Otherwise, wouldn't be shocked if LSU made an offer.

As the day unfolded he got EVERYTHING spot in correct. He actually even named the next president we’ll see how that turns out.
The next president was decided before the search committee was formed. Some will like the hire, but many will scratch their heads questioning not if this person can do the job but how they found themselves in the running for the presidency of the flagship university in the state. All that said, people speak very highly of this candidate and have respect for them.
Bottom line- barring some late game weird stuff happening (we are in LA after all), LSU end up with a likable, apparently competent president who knows how important a well functioning athletic program is for the school.

He did his master's bidding in the article by talking up Woody and ignoring both his poor hire McMahon, forcing of Pelini on O.
And forcing Brad Davis to stay on staff the last 4 years.

No AD in his right mind would allow a head coach to be hired in his flagship program without his approval.
He’ll be allowed to say, “I agree,” but hopefully not to be involved in negotiating compensation and contract language.

You seriously think if you do not win a nationals championship that a coach has lost the locker room? So every year only one coach has not lost his locker room? This makes no sense to me.
My response was to someone saying everyone is losing their locker room (“everywhere”). These schools’ coaches have not lost their locker room. You do not have to win a championship to prove you have not lost the locker room. Those two are not even remotely close to being the same.

Woody forced Pelini on O? I didn’t know that. There has been some talk about coaches being forced on Kelly. Interesting….

‘Deuces’ you are 100% correct. The players have too much control and can undermine the coaches. You take pure athletes, pay them millions, tell them their great, put them on pedestals and then expect coaches to be able to motivate and coach them. The game is lost.

Absolutely and being in the SEC is that much harder for coaches. They have got to restructure these players contracts to where they only get money when they accomplish certain goals. You can’t throw all this money at these kids before they ever have any responsibility. It breeds laziness. You would think they would play hard to try and make a living at the next level but I bet some lose focus on that when they already have money. Transfer rules absolutely have to change.
100%. You are actually doing these guys a disservice by giving them too much money too soon. Looking back if someone has millions of dollars in college, would they still bust their arse studying to get into med school? Not likely. To some of these guys 100k is like a million dollars and they dont realize it wont last forever.
