Rookie minicamp is ok but a preseason camp is not?

Cole Hutson has been practicing with Texas after getting professional instruction and presumably paid to play by an NFL team. Per Google their beat writers say he’s still eligible and with the team.
Has a TRO.
Absolutely no one seems to be care.

They clearly wrote the rule at the B10 level to not go after that UCLA player and the SEC rule was written specifically in a way to not go after the Texas player

I don’t know if players sign contracts for mini camp and compensation.
I’m wondering if he had any travel or hotel paid by the Cowboys.
Would think if that’s the case he would at least get a suspension.

They are having quite a few problems in Austin, but yeah the double standard for Hutson is confusing to me
All of these 5 for 5 players signed contracts & got paid to play in college last year.
Yet he is still eligible because he didn’t “sign an NFL contract” while some other guys did

He didn't withdraw from the draft. Regardless of whether he signed a contract or not he shouldn't be eligible. According to their statement

According to Hester, camp invites don't sign an NFL contract. They sign a waiver that states that the team will cover medical costs if they are injured during the minicamp.

They also get paid expenses meals etc. as well as NFL instruction.
Absolutely zero reason he should be clear but not the others.

Exactly...but they're not making any distinction for 5 for 5 players. That rule makes sense if someone left college early, but these guys didn't. He should be eligible but so should any of these guys that only went to the draft because they had no choice.

Rookie mini camp is a 3 day try out. Ur not apart of no team, no contracts, no practices, rookie mini camp is basically like a walk on trying to make it on lsu team but he was cut.

Yall are being dumb on purpose. Its all about where the hard line is drawn and it seems like that line is drawn at signing an NFL contract. A rookie minicamp waiver is not a contract.
Yall are essentially taking the stance that "a crime is a crime" so someone Jay walking should get the same treatment as a murderer. I get that this example is hyperbolic but the point being that there are levels to things and signing and official NFL contract seems to be the line in the sand.

He got benefits housing food etc from the NFL and was cut.
These guys got an EXTREMELY minimal signing bonus and were cut.
All of them left college.
None were drafted.

Its dumb because the only reason he is allowed back is because he wasn't good enough to make a preseason roster. That's it.
The other guys were slightly better/valued, thus made a preseason roster, but not good enough to make the final 53.
The "morality" of it all is exactly the same, but they are just mad that LSU was getting slightly more valued players.

Both of which make a player ineligible in the eyes of the NCAA.
That’s why all of them required going to court.
All of them have received compensation from the NFL

The difference is Sark did it quietly, no one would've ever known if you didn't bring the information to the board.
