Are you under the impression nothing has changed in the situation since then?

Or, are you just trolling another Will Wade thread? If so, well done!!

Just that Wade has adapted to the situation
It's a shame it took him until after the season to adapt.

I haven't followed this much after the 1st couple of weeks when the meeting that never happened was a big talking point.

What has happened since?

Because we WANT our coaches doing it.

I want to see LSU compete in basketball and you can’t do that playing clean.

Sorry

If you’d rather pretend to take the high road you can and act like you still care about success you can.

But you really can’t have one and not the other.

I don’t care if he does it or not. You can’t get caught tho and his name has surfaced 3x in the last year or so. Hes making rookie mistakes and he’s the only one to blame

For fricks sake, LSU did NOTHING to him after the 1st leak and people are still acting like it’s been unfair,

was under the impression that Wades legal council was not allowed in the first meeting, which is why he declined.

Does anyone think Wade hasn’t been talking to players?

Not if he was told not too, doubt he would risk it at this point

If that's all he was referring to, wouldn't everyone be making those same offers??
He was offered by Kentucky, Florida St, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and UCLA.

Kentucky- had 3 freshmen guards, including Herro. Herro was getting the big dorm and most PT.

Fla St- had 3 experienced guards coming back, not a lot of PT.

Kansas- Had experience, plus 3 freshmen guards, Dotson getting much better stats than Smart.

Not going to look up OSU or UCLA.

None of these schools offer the chance for him to see his mother before bedtime any day of the week, and for his friends and family to come to every home game without serious expense. LSU did.

LSU also had the scheme- run a 3 guard offense, with only 2 starters in place (Waters and Mays).
Waters was the clear PG of today, but it wasn't unexpected for him to declare after this season. Mays had already transitioned over to the 2 guard spot, and he's also transitioning.
So- Wade could offer him plenty of PT, and the chance to run the team in his 2nd season if Waters left.

That's a damn strong offer.

Have the Friday "meeting" then wait until 4 p.m. and issue a simple press release that says he is being reinstated and will continue to cooperate with any further investigation.

Or you fire him on a Friday before spring break at 4 pm. Works both ways

It's possible, but why have a meeting to fire him. Why not just fire him for not meeting?

ETA. If you walk out of the meeting and fire him, you are basically admitting that the school committed a violation. If you fire him for not coming to a meeting, you avoid that.

I hope everyone now understands that WW (if innocent) could have been coaching both SEC and NCAA tournaments!!! All he had to do is meet with his boss and cooperate (as stated in his contract). What about all of the BS about "WW can't meet because of the trial, FBI, judge, etc.?" All of that is a bunch of crap. It was crap last month, and it is crap this month. WW was foolish (if innocent) to allow this situation to fester into what it is today. Think about this, what was WW thinking when his team was loading the bus for the tournament? He should have said to his lawyer, "we have to find a way through this that allows me to coach my team." He failed to do this, and he failed his team. I'm disappointed in WW. No wonder the players are leaving for the NBA. Deep down, they knew this as well. ALL WW HAD TO DO WAS MEET WITH HIS BOSS. WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINAL FOUR AND WHO KNOWS WHAT.

Yes Will Wade was wrong in talking to Dawkins over the phone that way. NO ONE IS DENYING THAT.

But the reason why Will Wade is suspended is not his fault.
A meeting should have been held between Wade, the president, and the athletic director. LSU brought in a 3rd party that was not necessary at the time.

1) The FBI has asked the judge to not allow Wade's testimony. That's a big deal if the judge agrees because it eliminates the possibility of Wade incriminating himself, including via perjury, in his testimony.

2) Wade has retained new legal counsel who is very experienced in dealing with NCAA legal and compliance issues.

Any "offer" more substantive than promising him a large dormitory room or the best location for his locker in the locker room is not going to fly well, I'm afraid.

What about this part of the "wiretap"?

.“The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit,” Wade continued. “It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”

I still cant figure out just how Wade was going to split up playing time, NBA advisers, a scholarship, Etc. with the kid's mom and family members.

jeez man, assigning blame to Wade for his actions doesn't equal hate (whatever "hate" even means).
