Louisiana isn't really a hotbed for HS QB talent
and for some reason if there are good ones, they tend to leave the state.

You lose your OC a month before the season, have shite for QBs go undefeated through the toughest schedule in the country. They make you play the number 2 team in the country after we already beat them 2 times in a row both times with 2 weeks to prepare. Oh and the opposing team coach is the greatest college football coach of all time.
Looking back at that, WTF?!!!

bama had their shot and blew it at home. IDG 2 shits about a okie lite missed FG. they shoulda been playing us.
what is bad is miles allegedly shitcanned all the extra, exotic prep they did for the natty and went back to the same old basic shite from the first meeting and that terrible 1st half JJ had in the SECCG.
then the coup de grace was miles never put Lee in for a 2 minute HUNH offense which he was not bad at regardless of past performances against bama.
no...........miles quit on all of us. he had JJ handing off killing clock and punting on 4th down. he quit. most were done with him after that showing.

He promised to open the offense up. Day one of practice showed clips of QBs throwing long passes like you saw today. Everyone got excited because finally we would have a QB throw over 200 yards in a game. Then game one came and it was the same old shite.
I dont think you are remembering the Les Miles timeline correctly. This isnt accurate

What an adventure that was. He sure did have them ready for Oregon though.

He promised to open the offense up.
quote:ESPN article dated November 29, 2025
"Does the serious overhaul of this offense include Leonard Fournette? Are we taking away the running game?" Miles said. "There's not a serious overhaul because the engine seems to be pretty freakin' strong. Do we want to consider changes? You betcha. But I think an overhaul is a bit much."

That's NOT Power I.
That's NOT a toss dive.

Just fire up his first game ever at LSU. The clown show began on the first drive.

I don't think LSU ran out of a Power-I formation under Les Miles very often.
miles ran i formation as you said. 2 backs.
power I is 3 backs. FB behind Qb with a wing back to the side of him and a tailback behind the FB.
the maryland I is 3 backs stacked in a row behind the QB. miles never ran maryland I either.

Les always puzzled me. His 06 and 07 offenses were run heavy but i would not call them conservative. 08 ill give him a pass since Perriloux had his screw up. Then he basically went uber conservative until 2013 when he let Mett throw it around a good bit. Then as soon as Mett graduated his offensive philosophy reverted back to the 70s

I had a flashback to the Miles era yesterday when Kiffin said 100% of the roster reported to camp and was healthy.
It seemed like every camp we’d have players mysteriously missing due to NCAA clearinghouse

Think about that for a minute.
Saying this is just asinine. People can grasp the gravity of what you’re saying without saying this insipid line. And what you’re saying is not that insightful.

WTF are you talking about, professor?

True. Miles did some great things while coaching LSU, but his stubbornness , terrible decisions on hiring coordinators, and his 1975 offensive mentality did him in.

There's like 10 posts calling a toss with pulling OL a toss dive
Miles rarely ran the quick hitting dive play.

LSU made Miles.
Miles did not make LSU.
He was so full of himself. His way was right and adapting to the times wasn’t an option.
