Les may get a lot of shite but he never fielded an offense as putrid as last year's.

Etling was also a transfer, and he started 2 seasons here. He wasn't great, but that further exemplifies how bad our QB recruiting was- he was still better than anyone else on our roster.

Never thought I’d say this but I kind of miss Les Miles! His offenses were abysmal but his football teams as a whole were always “Damn strong”.

I remember him following that saying "the engine is fine" with Fournette. So he forewarned us, some of us just didn't listen.

The one thing we could not question about a Les Miles team was their toughness, physicality, and ability to win games despite lacking a legitimate passing game.

That got him fired. Miles thought he was bigger than what he was and his stubborness cost him his job. He could have easily remained the Head Coach for the rest of his career if he would have adjusted to the modern offense similar to Saban. He just wouldn't, he thought he could run the ball, control the clock, play elite special teams and defense and win a Championship and he was never able to.
I still have PTSD from that shite. I didn't like the hire when it was made but hard to argue with the results he had in the first 3 seasons. If you're not adapting you're dying.

The Mad Hatter. I do miss some of that running game. They never would’ve had a shotgun formation on 3rd and 1.
Hope LSU recognizes him before it’s too late.

I don't think so. 2011 was just a continuation of his post-2009 approach. The differentiating factor was Alabama/Saban evolved their style of play despite winning national championships with the approach they were using. Miles stubbornly refused to do so (except for 2013 when he had no choice because the defense sucked)

Yep. That was such a surreal set of events. Miles gets carried off the field in his "final game" at LSU...only to learn 20 minutes later it wasn't his final game. The attempted firing seemed to be the thing that would finally get him to change his offensive/overall approach. Everyone was excited about the Lambeau trip because despite the way 2015 ended, LSU had what appeared to be a potential championship caliber roster. Then, every LSU fan realized that day in Wisconsin that NOTHING had changed. That was the day even the most ardent Miles supporters finally had enough.

correct. as ususal here many do not know their X and o's well at all. or need a refresher. just like we went round and round here explaining what a zone read is and a vertical and horizontal RPO NOT being the same options.
miles ran i formation as you said. 2 backs.
power I is 3 backs. FB behind Qb with a wing back to the side of him and a tailback behind the FB.
the maryland I is 3 backs stacked in a row behind the QB. miles never ran maryland I either.
