He won’t be fired after this season no matter what and I’m pretty sure most of you know this if you’re honest with yourself. I am in no way endorsing keeping him, I’m just telling you he won’t be fired

I want him fired now. But realistically he probably has to be sub .500 (5-7 or worse) to be fired only two years removed from a perfect season.

He never should have been hired but now? Even getting boat raced by MSU and losing at home to Auburn might not be enough.

Remember how the sausage was made? He will run up the score in his cupcake wins and use that as a distraction from losing too many games. That, combined with the "one of us" media campaign is how he leveraged the job in the first place.

He isn't getting fired this year. I may need to head over to the Poli Board for some more rational and less emotional discussion

If we finish .500 or worse, he will be fired. I have no doubt about that.

7-5 should get him canned. I’d be disappointed but not surprised if he got another year at 7-5

Listen to yourselves many of you....at least wait until season's end before going after his neck...he has turned it around before-he might do it again!! I know you are all pissed now-and even more so after he loss to Troy back in 2017 -but you all were pretty happy with him as coach 11/09/2019 and especially on 01/13/2020 when he lifted that NC trophy!!! He made it through the adversity back then-he just may do again. Either way-if he fails and has to go-Urban Meyer would be a nice dream-but he won't leave after 1 year at JAX so forget that!!

Last year, going 5-5 in an all SEC schedule with true freshman QB's in 7 / 10 games is a plus in my book. I know the defense was bad, but the team was decimated and had to find new coordinators in February.

Stop with this shite. Other teams had issues last year but still managed to not embarrass themselves. LSU had advantages with other teams having Covid absences for key players and still lost.

If not for an idiot m, throwing his shoe, lsu is the first defending champion with a losing record in like 40 years.

This year, we lost the first game to a talented UCLA team, on the road, hurricane interrupted practice week, against a very
good coach in Chip Kelly.

UCLA is not that talented. The road game excuse and now. You are acting like this hurricane was equivalent to Katrina. Outside of a long bus ride, they were practicing at an nfl stadium. The disruption was minima.

This team will recover, get 8 or 9 wins, and be poised to compete for the SEC title next year. You don't fire a coach less than 2 years removed from a perfect season with the potential we have.

This team gets nowhere close to 9 wins with this coach and staff. Also, Auburn fired Chizik two years removed from an NC with better results and then went to an NC game the next year with Gus. It can and should happen.

Better to do it now and not fall even further behind with a moron at the helm with OU and Texas coming in 4 years.

I paid a ton of money for my tickets and this loss has me pretty friggin sore.

The margin for error is VERY thin right now on my interest in buying more tickets for next season.
That said, I can tolerate 2 more losses but they better be against alabama and another team that is clearly suppose to be better than us and I don’t mean Auburn or Tamu.

I can start with the part I agree with. Meyer is not coming to LSU.

The rest? Not so much. I thought we were blessed to have Burrow, Aranda, and some great individual players. I am great with O coaching D line and recruiting. But you can't put words in my mouth about him as head coach. I never thought he was the answer on the basis of his history as a head coach and my judgment of him being too immature and too inexpert to even be a coordinator. The Dabo analogy was always weak to me because Venables had Dabo's back but Aranda was never going to be content to play second fiddle to the lesser character and less qualified football coach.

If O had maintained success I would have been forced to admit he was a good choice but in my judgment he was never that person. And he shows that regularly by his fan interactions, his hiring choices (especially DP), his sexual conquests on display, his disconnect from the actual quality of his team, and his inability to materially coach his team.

Going to take 4-8 or worse and a consistently half full tiger stadium IMO with his buy out.

6-6 or better and the administration justifies that we can do with one more poor season over paying the buy out

The defense will approach historical futility again and he will be gone.

Do you have say $25 million hanging out somewhere?

face it, O has made his money and is going to get it, imo, probably one of the best things to do to cut losses would be to can him now, appoint an interim coach(not one in consideration for the job,) to finish out the year, we're not going to hire anyone we want before the end of the season anyhow, this puts the job out there, AD doesn't have to rush/panic/hire someone on a whim, and we have time to properly vet a new coach, new coach's contract should be incentive heavy as opposed to being paid guaranteed money up front with compensation not linked to performance, I know, it'll never happen but it makes more sense than Stingley Sr.'s $.02

Worst case is 8-4. That will be a shitty season but probably not good enough to to get rid of him. I think 7-5 or worse and he is gone.

With all of the off the field stuff, I think he is on borrowed time anyway. Maybe I am just wish casting.

I think even 8-4 gets him canned. He’s shown no improvement whatsoever and no ability to hire competent assistants. Combine that with his off field behavior and no way LSU can afford to keep him around anymore.

6 losses gets him fired. I think he gets 7

UCLA
Alabama
Florida
Auburn
TAMU
Mississippi
Miss State

The first 5 teams are just better than we are right now. The last two will out coach us and put up 50+ each

we might lose at UK as well just to put a cherry on it

I think the better question is does O finish the season at LSU ?
Those 4-5 SEC losses in a row are going to melt LSUniverse like a super nova

I think 6-6 is sufficient to can O. That would mean a losing season in SEC play and would be intolerable even for the most strident Oeaux apologists.

But why? Why is everyone so convinced O’s seat is so hot? Multiple years of 6-6, sure. But we haven’t had that. We had a decent 2018, magical 2019, weird Covid 5-5 rebuilding year, and now this.

He needs 8-4 to save his job. Including a less than brutal than expected loss to Bama.
